We stayed at Casa Josh number 91 on Castillo Mar for 12 days in June 2011. Apartment is a beautiful duplex, white, clean, cool, modern, balcony upstairs off the bedroom which is lovely to sit out on in the morning, gets really hot in the afternoon/evening for any tan lovers, downstairs is a little patio which is lovely to dine out on both morning and evening, what more could you ask for. Marjorie who we rented off is a lovely, friendly lady, higly recommend her apt to anyone interested in going to Caleta de Fuste.
Complex was lovely, clean, tidy, quiet, just what was needed for a relaxing holiday. Swimming pool cleaned every morning whilst we were there, and chlorine and cleaning levels checked every evening. We may have been lucky but for any cockroach fearing people, we didn't see any around the complex.
Complex very central to all amenities, 10 minute stroll to main beach, 5 minute stroll to local pubs etc, or just a little bit further up the road to more restaurants and pubs., but non centrally more than a 15 minute stroll.
Main shopping area is about a 10 minute stroll.
If you fancy a venture along the coast, head towards the beach and walk towards the left hand side, there is a little row of shops and a Beach Cafe that are really good value for money.
Head a little further along over the wasteland towards the big orange hotel, and around the corner there are 3 little lagoon type beaches, really lovely with both sea in and out. A little further along that stretch is the Atlantico Shopping Centre with a huge Euro Spa shop if you fancy stocking up on groceries. Its a 3 euro taxi ride back to Castillo Mar.
Saturday Market is a good half hour walk up Chipmunk Mountain and for those that are not hikers (like me) there is the little train that will take you up for 1 euro, and also bring you back.
A must for any out of the ordinary sightseers is East Coast Rentals, Steve and Kerry are lovely people, take the Quad Bike 2 hour tour off road and through some of the beautiful little villages inland, and over the hills. Cost was 70 euro's for driver and passenger, me being the passenger. It was truly and experience not to be missed, will most definately be doing it again when we go back.
Overall, holiday combined with the heat and everything so near, was really good, that much so were hoping to go back in December.
