“Good All round Hotel Good Views”

ApartHotel Castillo San Jorge / Antigua / Suites

26 Feb 2008

Me and my partner and two children aged 11 & 4 stayed at this hotel for 11 nights in november 2006.
We arrived at around 4pm and was meet by very helpful reception staff. We booked a mini bus transfer which cost around £60 which to be honest was'nt werth it as the cab charge is around 10 euros and only about 10mins from the airport.
Dont be put off by the airport being close as caleta de fuste is an extremly nice and quite town.
After being greeted by the staff we were told the sea view room allication which i had emailed across had never reached them. But as it was outside the season it was not a problem as the hotel holds 300+ rooms. There are 3 sections of the hotel and we chose to stay in the suites which we were told was the quitest and with the best sea views. To be honest the whole hotel was quite as it was out of season which suited us.
The room due to it being a sea view had a surcharge with it which was around the £60 mark for the 11 nights which i thought was reasonable.
We went all inculsive to this hotel and with our family this is what we normally do to all destinations. I must say the food and drink was plentyfull however after a week gets a bit repetative, so we found ourselves going out to eat which is not ideal after paying all inclusive. The local resturants are very good and resonable especially the slow boat chinese and the indian right outside the suites hotel (dinner was huge).
The pools were good and you had three to choose from plus a childrens pool but all cold and not heated.
The pool snacks and drinks were OK but again repetative but the kids seem to like it.
The only complaint i would honestly say is the hotel satted air con but when we got there there was none in the rooms and very rarely anywhere else which is not good when its been a hot day and your trying to enjoy your meal that evening in very hot conditions.
The entertainment was OK and wachable but it repeated itself the second week and i must say one week of it is enough. But again the kids like the mini disco.
Overall the hotel was good and good value for money, its like that old saying you get what you pay for and we did get good value for our money.

just come back from a weeks stay at the san jorge. firstly room good size but in need of a good clean and coat of paint, virtually no storage space had to keep a lot of our clothes in suitcases which wasnt ideal. you have to pay to rent a kettle also for tv remote. there was always plenty of sunbeds but i think that was because it was very quiet the complex was less than half full. pools nice but freezing cold. food was very good im a fussy eater and there was always something i liked. evening entertainment is dire there is no atmosphere whatsoever both bars had less than 20 people every night. the complex is in a lovely position overlooking the sea and its fun to go and see the chipmunks who will feed out of your hands. i would definitley go back to fuerteventura but not to this complex it needs some serious redecoration and some decent cleaners.

“What is everyone on ????- it was brilliant in actuall fact”

ApartHotel Castillo San Jorge / Antigua / Suites

12 Feb 2008

I stayed here last year with my family of five, we had a brilliant self catering holiday. Yes, the room was fairly basic and not of what we have in England, but we could see the sea, had a brillinat view of what was arguably the best looking pool in the world, even though it was cold. There are three pools, and you can go in any one you wish.

The architecture of the hotel was beatiful, the staff are always there, and ready to help, the entire place is immaculate, the bars are brilliant, and the place itself within Caleta De Fuste is also superb. Went to Lanzarote this year, i can assure you i will be going back to Caleta and San Jorge next year.

Take a look at these pictures, they might change your mind.

“Nice relaxin Holiday”

Stayed at the hotel 26th jan to 2nd feb. we were all inclusive.
The weather while we were there was excelent, got a brilliant tan.
Check in was very quick and you get a map to show you where your apartment is and all other ameneties are on the map.
Room was clean, tidy and spacious. Cleaned regularly and towels replaced.
The food at the restaurant i thought was very good with plenty of choice,at breakfast there was plenty of continental/ hot breakfast things to chose from, also pancakes and eggs were cooked fresh.
At tea time there was always a choice of 3 or more meats and fish that were cooked from scratch for you, 3 types of pasta, chips, and a selection of hot food choices, salad and cold rice/pasta dishes. Good choice of sweets.
At lunch time you ate at the main snack bar which had a choice of salads, meat and fish dishes as well as burgers and hot dogs.
On the a i you could get crisps and ice cream from all bars and a selection of cakes from the english bar, water, coffee and tea are always available.
The drinks were good and plentiful and at no time was i told i could only get 2, although there was a notice up saying this.
The entertainment of an evening, Some night this was quite good and other nights no comment, probably about 50/50.
The pools were very clean and there were plenty of sunbeds, but we were there at quiet time of year.
I found all bar 1 of the staff very friendly, helpful and chatty.
Your ai facilities lasted until you left the hotel and not when you checked out which i thought was good as we had a late departure.
The hotel on a whole was very good and i will go back again.
Previosly stayed at the Broncemar and prefered this by far.

“Could do with a lick of paint”

ApartHotel Castillo San Jorge / Antigua / Suites

We booked a week self catering in Jan 08, on arriving at the hotel we were quickly allocated our room. After leaving the reception we had a short walk to our apartment and could see some of the complex which appeared pleasant. However the disappointment came when we entered the room, mould on the walls and curtains, ants in bathroom and kitchen, in addition very limited self catering facilities, eg no kettle.

The maid cleaned the rooms 5 times or should I just say made the beds. Floor was not cleaned and bins not emptied. The smell of our 10 month old nappies left for a couple of days was not very pleasant.

The resort had fantastic beaches for our little boy to play on, nice restaurants, a few bars and was clean. Therefore we spent little time at the hotel complex.

The only entertainment we watched at the complex was the flamenco dancing and we found this enjoyable and the bar prices were similar to those in the resort.

We used the local bus service which we found reliable and cheap. However we didn't think much of the town Rossario.

The best supermarket is in the shopping centre atlantico, got everything you will need and much cheaper than the netto's.

Would most definatelty go back to the resort but different hotel!
