“Never again!”

Broncemar Beach

My husband and I have just returned from 1 week staying at Broncemar Beach. After requesting from the travel agent a "couples complex" with a good variety of bars and restauarants we were to arrive and find the complete opposite. This complex is perfect for families who wish to stay up very late at night, get drunk and listen to children screaming, mainly using the karoake machine. On our final night we were woke at 3am to hear the people in the apartment below having a very violent domestic row and according to the rep these had been frequent throughout the week. The resort itself was very quiet and 99% of bars and restaurants would only have 1 or 2 other families in them during the evening at any one time. The beach...well don't bother...you need to travel elsewhere to enjoy a decent one. The pool in our complex was freezing so we didn't use it.

To back up on previous reviews the staff were very helpful and friendly, which is amazing considering how we saw how rude many British tourists are when abroad. The apartment was very spacious and clean and we had a 2nd floor apartment with a good sized balcony. The reps were very helpful and obviously worked very hard to keep the children entertained day and night.

In a nutshell this resort and complex was noisy in the wrong way and far too quiet in the wrong way.

The problem with creating a purpose built complex for us Brits is that you end up with too many ignorant rude karoake singing morons who think that to sample a few foreign foods and customs is too much and are only happy when drunk and loud letting their kids run wild and can watch all their fave soaps in the bars.

And for the record I am a British mother of two boys aged 11 and 14 and step mum to two girls aged 10 and 19 and I am glad that we did not take them here.

I can't help but think that the brits have probably killed this resort as they do many other places and please if you are not a Brit do not think we are all like this.

“Ideal Relaxation Retreat”

Broncemar Beach

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at the Broncemar and would certainly recommend it to others. We arrived late on Sunday and were quickly checked in by a very pleasant receptionist, who gave us a map of the complex, directed us to our appartment (#363) and explained where everything was located. The whole complex was bright and clean and our large ground floor appartment had separate bedroom, spacious bathroom, combined sitting/dining room and outside patio where you could take the sun well into the afternoon, so you didn't have to lounge by either of the pools to get a tan.
We discovered the hotel's Buffet restaurant the second night and were so amazed by the good variety and quality of the food that we ate there most of the time, exchanging stories of our daily adventures with a number of other 'regulars'. If you are on a budget, then this is definitely the place to eat . All the staff we encountered were pleasant and courteous and the other guests we met seemed to be having an enjoyable holiday. Jacob, the manager, seemed to be always available if needed and I will check out the Broncemar first for my next visit to Fuerteventura.

“Good for a cheap break.”

My husband and i wanted a cheap break in a quiet resort, and stayed here for a week in May. We travelled with Thomas Cook.
Our apartment was on the ground floor, on the outskirts of the complex (still only a 2 min walk from pool). The 1 bed apartment (no 239) was basic, but very clean and had a nice patio, which was quite private compared to some of the other rooms. The rooms nearer to pool/reception seemed to have balconies/patios which were actually walk ways to other rooms. The pool area was nice, still lots of free sunbeds even in the afternoon. The pool is very cold til late morning, good for a wake up call!
The complex itself is about a 10 min walk to the beach and 5 mins to a small shopping area with restaurants etc. We weren't very impressed with the nearest beach, but there is a much better one further around the bay...just head right when you get to the main beach towards some big hotels. This beach is much better, well worth the extra 10 min walk. There are also better (in our opinion) restaurants if you keep heading left when you get to the Netto. The resort itself is very Btitish, with English and Irish bars everywhere.
We went to the Baku water park in Corralejo, which was a great day out, we were there for opening and stayed til it closed as there is so much to do there. We travelled by local bus, and it took about an hour altogether. We decided not to do the Thomas Cook organised trip as we usually find them more expensive than doing it yourself. We did do one of the organised trips to Jandia. We did have a good day, but just be warned you do not actually get to go to the 7th best beach like we were told, just look at it from afar! We were also stung many times by tiny jelly fish in the sea here...just be warned it is a nudist beach!
Restaurants we would recommend are:
-La Bodeguita
-Mexican corner
-Fado Rock (Your food comes served still cooking on hot stones)
-Great wall
All in all, we had a great holiday, but we persoanally wouldn't return to either the hotel or the resort.
Please email with any questions.

“Lovely apartments”

Broncemar Beach

12 May 2008

Stayed at the Broncemar Beach from 23/4/08-30/4/08. The apartments are lovely and very spacious. If you have mobility problems I would ask for a ground floor, as the upper rooms have a few steps up to them. We were in upper room and the balcony was excellent. We actually sunbathed up there rather than around the pool. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and it is a massive area. The entertainment was quite poor. When we were there it was pretty quiet and I actually felt sorry for the entertainments staff as there was hardly anyone watching them. The bars we went to were "the flower of Scotland" to watch the footie and there are lovely restaurants. We loved the Italian restaurants. Fado Rocks is a good steak house. The hotel staff are mostly nice but I found 1 of the reception staff to be downright rude but everyone else was really nice.

“Better than expected”

Broncemar Beach

10 May 2008

After reading some negative comments we were pleasantly surprised to find one of the best holiday apartments that we have stayed in. The hotel staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to help you, the apartments are spotless and completely without "Wildlife". We had a small problem operating the safe but the maintenance man was there within 4 minutes of reporting it. On the last day there was a problem with the toilet not flushing, again the maintenance man was there in minutes.
The fact that he came so quickly means that everything else on the site is running just perfectly and he is not needed. I did not find one sunbed that was broken and there are plenty of them, neither did I find it hard to get a "good spot" even arriving at the pool late in the afternoon.
There are many excellent restaurants in the area and rather than recommend just one, I will just say that I never found one that I would not recommend, we tried a different one each night.
The "All Island tour" offered by the Reps is real value for the money, and I am a person who does not normally like Reps tours. The whole area looks as if it was built yesterday, everywhere is freshly painted and I never saw one building that was not attractive to look at. I will definitely return next year.
