As our plane was desending into Santorini we got a beautiful overview of the island on a bright sunny day, complete with whitewashed buildings, bright colors, and the beautiful blue of the Med! Not having stayed at the Acqua Vatos before, we were hopeing it would prove as nice as the island. We were NOT disappointed. Upon arrival, we drove to the hotel (really close to the airport) and were pleasantly suprised to find the hotel of our expectations. It is brightly colored, spotlessly clean, has lots of flowers, beautiful big pool, lots of chaise lounges around the pool, Fab rooms, and equally fabulous hosts, George (x2) and Alina. This is not a chain hotel with cookie cutter rooms, but an efficently run boutique hotel. The rooms are spotless and are decorated with taste and charater. The property is 1 block off the main promenade and beach giving it privacy and a great quiet location with restaurants all around. We walked everywhere. Your hosts will go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time! If you need anything or just want some help, just ask, they are a pleasure to deal with!
When we went to Fira (a town perched on the cliff overlooking the caldera) I overheard some people saying they hadn't even been to the beach yet as it was a ways away...not only were we on the beach (or pool) everyday, we were able to catch a bus right across the street of the Acqua Vatos to explore all the villages we wanted to, or we could rent a quad right there at the hotel (great prices) and go on our own (well worth it).
When we return to Santorini this is the only hotel we want!

The reviews for this hotel really do speak for themselves. My husband and I travelled to Santorini to get married in September and we are so pleased we chose to stay at the Acqua Vatos. It's a perfect hotel for a wedding / honeymoon as you're not just another number in a huge unfriendly complex.

Our hosts, George and Alina and the team were fantastic - they helped us so much with our wedding arrangements we really can't praise them highly enough. We are both well travelled and have never met hotel owners who cared so much about their guests!

Our room was lovely - a double superior, which had a really homely feel to it, with lots of personal touches. The candles on a night time really make for a romantic atmosphere.

The pool area is so peaceful, it's perfect to relax and unwind by - and the sunloungers are great.

We stayed in aqua vatos hotel june this year when we where island hopping our stay was brief but as we arrived we found the welcoming from george, george and alanie fantastic their hospitality and help with all our queries was OUTSTANDING. Making sure our taxis where arranged as our ferries where very early in the morning to making sure that the boat was on time so that we where not delayed in the port. As we love the island and have stayed at various hotels this hotel is very much value for money and in the best location so much so we felt we had to return in september to spend a full week in their wonderful hotel and its surroundings.
The pool is large with plenty of sunbeds both in the sun and shade for when it gets too hot and you can always find somewhere to relax. The hotel is situated in the square of kamari which is less than 2 mins walk from the beach, bars, restaurants etc but yet is still in a quiet and relaxing location.
Breakfast is continatial with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, tea coffee etc there is always a happy smiling face in the morning.
The rooms are spotlessly clean with a maid EVERY day and are querky in decoration, more than adequate for a good nights sleep coz lets face it you should be enjoying the sunshine of a day!!!
Anything that you need all you have to do is ask and everyone will go out of their way to get you the information that you need.

Thanks to both Georges and Alina at the Aqua Vatos Hotel, our holiday from 25 Sep – 5 Oct 07 in Santorini was outstanding. Although technically a small hotel, the Aqua Vatos was really a home away from home. The rooms were very clean, the cappuccinos were excellent, and the pool area was great, but it was the personal care of our 3 hosts that made this trip unforgettable.
The Georges were forever making sure all was okay, organizing cars or suggesting restaurants; Alina had the best tips on where to go and what to avoid. Their interest in our well-being was very genuine and they demonstrated this trait to all their guests. We felt at home and at ease throughout our stay.
The location is great as it is just far enough from the beach so you don’t hear the party noise at night but really only 3 minutes away walking. The outdoor patio and inside lounge area were welcoming and relaxing in the evening. The prices for any type of drink or the excellent meals offered were exceptional.
Again, our thanks to 3 of the nicest people in Santorini for making our holiday a complete success.
