We took a chance in visiting Santorini in mid/late October, and were unfortunate to experience unusually dull weather. We always make the most of any given situation and our experience was enriched by our stay at the Acqua Vatos pension/hotel.

George and Alina are superb hosts, and together with George (at least it's easy), demonstrate a tremendous love for their hotel, their island and culture. Nothing is too much trouble, just ask!

The Vatos is bright, clean and a character jewel in and area of often very average accomodation. Each room is decorated individually, and breakfast is a treat, served in a pretty room (and terrace weather permitting!).

If you require one of two special rooms - book direct as they can only be reserved this way. Their gastronomic recommendations were spot on. We must state the food and drink in Santorini generally proved superior to any other location we have enjoyed, in Greece - and Kamari has two of the best on the island!! But go seek for yourself...
The Vatos entrance is romantically lit each evening by lines of candles, delightful touches like this exist throughout, and make you realise how much loving attention has been paid all round.

Choosing the right hotel whilst travelling with 2 young children is not the easiest thing to do, especially in Santorini. The cliff-side area was out of the question of course. We decided to take our chances on Acqua Vatos - No 1 hotel in TA for families - also looked lovely in the website. Trip advisor was correct again. Simply the best choice we could have done. This lovely property is ruled by two great persons, George and Alina who finally became our best friends in Greece. Their hospitality was supreme. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They make you feel like staying in their home but without sacrificing any of the professionalism that ensures a wonderful stay. The hotel itself is above the usual Greek standard of decor and the rooms were decorated in lovely contemporary colors. And the location to the bus stop couldn't be closer. The beach is just down the road and the first restaurant right on the beach is the best. Thank you George for your “secret tips” and Alina for your magical day-plans. We will return to Greece soon and Acqua Vatos will be our first choice. See you soon…

We stayed at the Acqua Vatos hotel in Santorini for 2 weeks at the end of September and we couldnt have wished for anything else. As it was our honeymoon we wanted to stay somewhere special, unique and personal & this is exactly what we received.

After seeing the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to go for it and we are so glad we did! George & Alina are the best hosts ever, making sure that every minute of our stay was special but most of all enjoyable! Every day they advised us on where to go, what was worth seeing and fab places that not everyone knows about, leaving us with fantastic memories! We both felt so comfortable and truly at home at this hotel and when we came to leave I found it truly upseeting - something that I have never came across before. I could have lived in room 212 forever(Great room)! They are always soo cheerful and pleasent and nothing was ever a problem and you could do whatever you wanted!

The hotel is in top condition, everything is super clean and comfortable (Our towels & room was tiedied every day!), the rest of the staff are friendly and polite and Olga serves the best breakfast ever....enough to feed a king! The poole area is huge & very comfortable with great sunbeds. You couldnt get a better position either with the hotel being a stone throw away from the beach and all the wonderful restaurants and bars of Kamari, wich is by the way...the best resort to stay on the island. The hotel also hires quad bikes wich are brill and well worth doing as its the best way to discover this magical island!

Overall this hotel, George, Alina and the rest of the staff score 200% & our stay couldnt have been better! Anyone that doesnt rate this hotel is wrong and needs the heads tested....If your thinking of making a reservation dont think twice this will be the most friendly, clean, comfortable hotel you will ever ever stay in! You will have the most fantastic holiday ever!

There is one simple reason why Acqua Vatos is one of the best recommended hotels in Santorini. George, Alina and the staff have created a wonderful boutique styled hotel where the welcome, the facilities and the over aura of the place will make your stay absolutely memorable.

Upon arrival, we were met on first name terms by the now infamous George and taken to our room. The rooms were very pleasantly decorated and had enough space for all the usual holiday baggage and clothes that one would bring on holiday. The shower was a little small, however was more than acceptable and the rooms were kept scrupulously clean.

Breakfast was the usual buffet style continental breakfast with lovely fresh bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, eggs, croissants etc and was a great start to the day. The piece de resistance of Acqua Vatos was the beautiful pool area and the pool itself. The area is kept impeccable with one area of the pool shaded by greenery and the other basking in glorious sunshine, both sides with ample sun beds for all residents. Even with towels being placed down at the poolside at 9am in morning, there were more than enough sunbeds on the ‘sunny side’ for all the guests contrary to previous reports.

For food, George recommended Taverna Nikolas in Fira…needless to say, his recommendation was perhaps one of the nicest meals I have EVER had and at very little cost.

If you’re going to Santorini, please take time to read the reviews of this hotel and BELIEVE every word of them…as someone who is very particular about where he stays, this is up there with the best. George and the staff will send you to the best restaurants, help with travel and basically make you feel as if you are at home from home.
