We stayed for a weeks bed and breakfast from 8th - 15th September 2011 and we had a fantastic time.
The hotel itself is only a short transfer from the airport. On the way there we made a few drop-offs at Laganas, which to be honest didnt look too good and got us slightly worried. However, once we had been dropped off at the Louros Beach Hotel and checked into our room for the week we were more than happy. The room was a twin on the ground floor with a balcony which overlooked well mancured gardens. The room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. There was a haridryer supplied, howoever, it wasnt very powerful, so i'd recommend taking your own. There was a safe in the room as well as a fridge and air conditioning. The safe was 21 euro for the week and the air conditioning was 6 euro's a day. Im not sure how much the fridge cost as we didnt bother with it. The rooms were cleaned daly, and the towels changed every couple of days.
The hotel itself is well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and you can see that a lot of care is taken with them. All of the public areas are clean and well looked after. The pool itself is small, however is more than adequate for the size of the hotel. There are more than enough sunbeds, we never had a problem reserving one. The breakfast is continental and really good. There are plenty of sliced meets and cheese provided as well as fresh fruit, cereals, and pastries. The pool bar/restaurant is excellent! We ate there every day for lunch and were not disapointed. My face was the tuna sandwich, and my boyfriend loved the cheap beer. The staff at the hotel were superb, always helpful and friendly. The spa is also really nice and good value for money, I treated myself to a pedicure and my boyfriend and I relaxed in the sauna and jacuzzi the day before we went home.
The hotel itself is a 2 minute walk from the beach and a 5 minute walk from the main strip of Kalamaki. We spent a morning at the beach which has pedalos which can be hired. We spent an hour out on one and were lucky that we managed to see a turtle! Beware of the fish though in the shallow water. I stood out in the sea and after a few minutes could feel the fish nibbling on my legs.
The main strip are in Kalamaki is packed full of different bars and restaurants, we made sure we ate somewhere different every night. The best restaurants we found were Milo's (which is at the far end of the strip) Heavens Kitchen, Dias (which is down one of the side roads) and Mermaids (which does greek dancing on Sunday nights). The Venue bar was the best for drinks as the cocktails were good value and came with a free shot!
All in all, we had a fantastic week away and wished we had booked for longer. We will definately look at staying at the Louros Beach again in the future.
