Just home from stay of one week starting 11th july 2012.
Arriving midnight plus we were greeted by a very friendly gent who could not have been more
welcoming. After explaining all we needed to know he escorted us through to one of the dining areas and was most apologetic that he could only offer us ''cold plate'' this was a beautiful salad, meats, cheeses, olives etc. and most appreciated.
We then were taken by car up to a lovely, very spacious room. My partner verges on the 'ocb' when it comes to cleanliness so when her face lit up upon seeing the room I knew we were on a winner!
Morning brought our first encounter with the main dining room, a vast selection of lovely presented food. The girls working round the counters do excellent work keeping every thing spotlessly clean and tidy.Breakfast chef was more than willing to cook anything just as you wanted it.
Lunch again was a joy, a vast selection of top quality food of all kinds on offer.
At dinner I thought the standard was high and just seemed to get higher and higher each night!
The highlight of the week was the Greek food themed evening, after eating some of the best lamb I have tasted amongst other delights, all washed down by the very agreeable house red.
The head chef popped out to check on proceedings , he is a great chap taking a great pride in his work and hopefully the hotel recognise what an asset he is to their business.
Complimenting the food are the waiting staff,a mixture of local people and some girls from Cheq republic who's smile could light up a room! All work tirelessly but still have time for a welcoming smile and hello.
The rest of the hotel carries on the high standards of the restaurants, every area is spotless and everyone seems to take pride in their work. The pool area is again spotless with nice quiet areas to relax in.
People seem to need star rating as guide, having been lucky enough to travel through some of Indonesian islands staying in '5 star' hotels including one of Japanese Nikko chain,I would have no qualms in comparing the Carda with them, perhaps the fixtures and fittings are different, but the service and friendliness of the Carda more than makes up.
