We chose this hotel as the basis for a family get together. We wanted a reasonable standard of accommodation and all inclusive so we did not have to worry about extra spending money. We chose Fuerteventura for the weather.
We picked up our hire car from Avis at the airport and drove 45 minutes to Costa Calma. It was a very easy drive along excellent roads.
The hotel is large and well arranged. It never seemed to be really crowded. The pools are beautiful and one of the outdoor pools is heated. There was a plentiful supply of loungers and fresh pool towels. The hotel is very clean and the decor is modern. The rooms were basic but clean. There were 3 English channels: Sky news, CNN and National Geographic. Enough to keep in touch with what was happening around the world. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated. Remember to take your own toiletries as the sachets of shower gel provided are not great.
The food was plentiful although repetitive, especially lunch. However, there is something for everyone. The all inclusive drinks were ok, premium brands were available for 2 euros extra. The self service for soft drinks, water and tea/coffee was good and this helped to avoid long queues. The shop in Reception is very expensive - step out of the hotel, walk for a few metres to the right and you will find a small Spar shop - great choice and good value.
The gym did not have the airconditioning on and as such was unbearably hot. There are a few machines and free weights but no supply of drinking water.
In summary, this hotel is a good choice for those looking for a relaxing week in clean, spacious surroundings. There is little in the way of entertainment nearby so if you are lookng for pubs/shops/ nightlife this is not the best choice.
