I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a tour package. I needed a 4* hotel with a WiFi connection and a parking lot near Eivissa; this limited the choice to just a few hotels. This hotel fully met my expectations and I am very satisfied, although it is absolutely not geared towards serving a young single like me who came to the island to party, enjoy the beaches and do tiny bits of work in between.
The hotel is located at the end of Playa d'en Bossa that is closer to Ibiza Town. I found it by following the signs from the airport to Playa d'en Bossa and then simply driving along and looking at hotel signs. The hotel has a free parking lot for guests, but at times, it was nearly full. There are not many parking opportunities on the streets near the hotel. I got a sea view room. Unlike most other hotels in the area, sea view rooms are indeed facing the sea, so you get a great 180-degree sea view from the old town of Eivissa to the watch tower at the southernmost tip of the island. I also saw a great sunrise directly from my balcony. I suppose that sunrise over the sea is only visible after the 2nd half of August; before that, the sun raises further North and over the hills, rather than from the sea.
The hotel has a swimming pool and a tiny "beach" with sunchairs that is in reality a mooring place for boats and doesn't look inviting for swimming at all. However, Playa d'en Bossa is a 5min walk away, I always went there for swimming when not driving to remote beaches. There are no places of interest in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the Ibiza town is reached by boat from Playa d'en Bossa (5 min walk) every hour in the morning and every 30 min in the afternoon, and also by bus and taxi. The boat ride to Ibiza town offers great views. The Bora Bora beach club and the Space club are within walking distance. Everything else on the island can be reached by car. I didn't experience any traffic jams in the area. There is a supermarket nearby.
The room was not very large, but clean and convenient, with a free WiFi connection. I didn't find any power outlet near the desk, but there was one near my bed. There is a room safe for rent, but it was too small for my laptop and would require me to carry a key (I prefer safes with a combination lock). The air condition worked fine and the mattress was good too.
Apart from the very entrance, the hotel's public areas look (and smell) dated. They are clean and posh, but just have some 70's feel in them and were pretty deserted as well. No problem for me, since I don't spend any time in public areas anyway.
I had half board. The breakfast was too basic for a 4*. There was no freshly squeezed orange juice. They had a decent cold selection and fruits. The hot items were fried eggs, sausages and bacon. The breakfast ends at 10am, which is way too early after a night of clubbing.
The dinner was nice. The main course and the dessert has to be ordered (but is included in the half board price). Everything else is on the buffet with an impressive selection of cold and hot starters, soup, salad, fruits and sweets. No hot coffee or tea in the restaurant (seems to be this way at all hotels on the Baleares). Having to order the main course meant fresher food, but also added time to the dinner which I personally would have better spent elsewhere. The service at the restaurant was spotless, it must be very nice for couples and families.
The hotel staff was very helpful, with English and German spoken with a slight preference for German. Obviously, the hotel is geared towards serving older travelers so they couldn't help me with party tips or get tickets, but apart from the party scene, I found them very knowledgeable about the island and helpful. The clientele is mixed, with families, party people, young and old couples to be seen.
I am very satisfied with this place and can highly recommend it to families, older travelers or party people who need a refuge away from crowds and do not want to party in the hotel itself. Will certainly stay here again unless I decide to try the new 5* properties in Eivissa.
