We didn't intend to stay here as we'd made a booking with an alternative GPS apartment but for absolutely no reason we were told on arrival we had to go to the Hotel Agarb.
We were 'upgraded' to get all inclusive, which meant that our opinions are slightly enhanced by the free food and drink, served from 11am to midnight by some exhausted looking but usually friendly staff.
Generally the hotel is very basic in appearance and in need of modernisation and new furnishings in the common areas. There's a musty smell, though I have found this to be common with cheaper hotels.
The rooms are very small with two beds as standard but it is possible to get a third in (though I really wouldn't recommend it - you can end up getting cabin fever!). There's a TV with 3 English language channels (Sky News, BBC World News and Eurosport) and lots of other European language channels. You have to rent a remote control. Each room has air conditioning which works only with the balcony door shut, though of the three rooms we had one of them had faulty aircon which made it unbearable at night. The beds are small and uncomfortable and you might find it nice to take your own pillows, some of our party wished we did! The bathroom is clean and simple with a detachable shower head and ok water pressure. Each room has a safety deposit box but as with the remote control you will need to rent this. Almost all rooms open with a magnetic key card though one of our rooms did have a normal key.
There are three lifts but they are hot, slow, small and often not working. The restaurant is self service and often features the same food over and over again (chips, pork in butter, breaded chicken and tinned ravioli appeared to be quite frequent) however they do offer a large range of dishes so a typical family/group shouldn't be too disappointed. The entertainment is hilariously terrible and takes place just by the bar. I would avoid planning my night around it but do take a peep when you're on your way out.
Outside there is a bar that's open until 5pm and an ok swimming pool. With lots of One of the hotel's biggest benefits is how close it is to the beach but the stretch of beach it's on is somewhat.. tacky.
Be warned that this hotel is noisy and the walls between the rooms are like cardboard, very thin cardboard.
The clientèle at the time of my visit was a very interesting mix of mainly Italian, Spanish and some British tourists - groups of young friends and families. As someone from the UK, I found it nice not to be in a place that was exclusively the accommodation for other Brits.
