The location of this hotel is perfect, just in front of a beautiful beach, with all the services you might require. The pool area (small but very nice) is perfectly integrated to the beach area, with a small and very nice bar.

The only thing I did not liked much is that the rooms, even though very clean are kind of outdated and basic, I expected a little bit more for the price. Although the sea view (if you have it) will definitely compensate it.

On the beach front you have several small but very nice restaurants so you have an additional alternative to the hotel restaurant which is quite good any way, highly recommendable for lunch and dinner or service at the beach/pool, i.e. good food both in terms of variety and quality. However, breakfast could be improved, quality is good but variety is average.

Generally speaking, hotel personnel are extremely friendly but do not expect much from the Manager (never smiles) and a guy named Alberto on the front desk, they are the exception to the rule there (friendliness). The rest of the staff is A+, e.g. cleaning ladies, waitresses at the pool/beach and the restaurant staff.

I will definitely recommend the hotel, but managing expectations, do not expect a modern room, although service is great and the location is excellent. Nice place for families with kids.

One last thing TV is only local, so do no expect international programming in your room.

I stayed at the Mykonos Palace for the 2nd year in a row now and had a great time again! The staff is very nice and helpful - from owner Eleni to receptionist Elena to bartenders Naso and Ervin to waitresses Giorgia, Bilianna, Tonya and Katerina. Rooms are clean with all the necessary amenities, some with great views of the sea. The restaurant Notos is also great, and Platis Gialos beach is the most beautiful, relaxing beach on the island. Also convenient to town and Paradise beach. I would highly recommend the Palace for anyone wanting to have a great time on Mykonos.

“Great family hotel”

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. However, the rooms are just average. Although they are clean and perfectly fine, they are very basic. Also, part of the hotel is not on the beach, its just across the street, but you look over a rocky parking lot. Its totally fine, but not exactly what we expected. The beach is great and very family friendly.

“Great beach hotel; Rooms a little iffy”

I am probably the only one that cares about the rooms at this hotel, given its location and its view (both spectacular) but I found them to be dated and not so clean.

We stayed for four nights on our honeymoon and when we checked in, we got a room with two single beds. They could not switch us until the next day so we spent our first night in Mykonos on our honeymoon, sharing a single bed. The shower in the first room was a tiny square and felt like it hadn't been really scrubbed for years. BUT, as a bonus, there was a shaver outlet.

Our next room was much bigger with a larger bathroom and a full-size tub (but no shaver outlet). We also got robes and slippers in this room. We had a minor ant problem and a hornet that tried to get in. The bed was what bothered me most...I just didn't feel like it was clean and it really wasn't that comfortable. I also have a theory that the a/c filter was not clean and it made me sick while we were there...I had horrible sinus issues in Mykonos and nowhere else in Greece.

However, it is a resort hotel and the view really was spectacular. We did not pay to sit on the beach here, rather we ate at Niko's a lot and they were so friendly that they let us use their chairs for free. It seemed all of the restaurants did this.

We took the boat to Paradise and the bus to town...it was very easy to get around from the hotel. And, as the other reviews mention, Francesca was extremely nice and the breakfast was just so-so and it does run out by about 10:30.

“Rocky Start to a Leaky Finish”

Mykonos Palace

8 Jul 2007

We just arrived from an amazing trip to Greece which included a stay at Mykonos Palace for 4 nights. If I had to do it again I would have requested a transfer from the airport to the hotel as there are only 30 cabs in Mykonos. We were able to get one but just barely.

The highlight of Mykonos Palace was Francesca. She is very sweet and very helpful always with a smile on her face. So the trouble started when we were shown our room. We were in Greece to celebrate a wedding anniversary and our room had 2 double beds, they were pushed together but this was not helping anything. In addition, there was a heatwave (40C, 100+F) and the AC is the room was BROKEN and had a fabulous view of the street. Needless to say I was upset. I relayed this to the management and they showed my the info from the travel agent. Please beware I personally think that travel agents are very overpriced especially since you can book these hotels online for usually much less, and then to add they write "DOUBLE" on the voucher which I guess translates in Greek to two beds?? They did try to fix the problem, shortly we were shown to the room next door which was akin to a cave, no balcony, one small window, and 1/2 the size of the other room. After paying almost 200/night for these rooms this was not acceptable. I was persistent and then the manager the NEXT morning gave us a room across the street in the adjunct hotel. Much nicer, with a king bed, no view (unless you count the street) but much bigger then the cave. The only problem, the leak in the toilet which kept a constant puddle in bathroom. Never ever had dry feet in this bathroom. After letting them know about the leak, I was informed that it could NOT be fixed and we could change rooms.... again. Finally, I gave up and we lived with the leak.

The beach in Platos Gialos is nice, but it is now up to 10euro to get 2 chairs and an umbrella. We stayed at the pool where it was free. We did have to get there early (before 11) in order to get chairs but overally it was fine. One note, the pool is SALTwater not fresh. I was not a bif fan. The breakfast is so so. Pretty standard fair, again get there earlier because they stop replinishing arounf 1030.

We didn't rent a car, but took the bus which runs like clock-work and is 1.20 euro/ticket (1.50 after 12 am ). We found it very easy o get around. Mykonos town is fun and Jimmys gyros was a highlight. Platos Gialos is definitely more family oriented, lots of kids running around but still nice.

I would definitely recommend the excursion to Delos with a guide. The tickets are about 35 euro/person. Pretty steep but without a guide the ruins look well like ruins and nothing else. There is no real info on the site. Also, know that the trip does leave from the old port in town so you will have to get there first.

With regards to food, the restaurant at the hotel had pretty good food but the drinks are extremely overpriced. 2.50 euro for a can of soda (you can walk literally NEXT door to the market and get the same can for 1 euro). This market was a likesaver. Tons of water and supplies for a very reasonable price.

Overall, Mykonos Palace was okay. I didn't feel it was worth the price.
