The room was quite comfortable and location excellent, just steps away from the beach. We found the breakfast buffet to be adequate but dinner nothing to write home about. We only ate dinner once at their restaurant and decided it would be our last night. Even their Greek night didn't attract many people. Their food doesn't compare with the restaurants right next door who have friendlier staff, more seating outside looking over the beach area and broader menus. My suggestion would be to try Nikko's and the other restaurants around before eating dinner at their restaurant.

There is a mini market just across the street where you can get mostly anything you want. The pool was very nice with beautiful views of the ocean. You can hop on a boat for 5 euros each round trip to Paradise Beach or others. The stop for the bus is just outisde the hotel which is 1.20 euros one way per person which can be purchased at the mini market, NOT on the bus. They tend to get crowded and extremely hot. Make sure your room doesn't face out to the main road. It can be very noisy with all the scooters parked just outside and revving up all times of the day and night.

Our room was on the first floor overlooking the road and from talking to other guests in the same area we all seemed to have the same problem with our bathrooms. They are extremely small (think cruise size bathroom) but the most annoying part was that the showers leaked onto the floor of the bathroom which needed at least 2 towels to mop it up after each use. So picture standing in water trying to brush your teeth or sit on the toilet.... I had read about this on this site prior to leaving so I was warned.

Bring cool, relaxing clothing to Myconos. We overpacked and were sorry later. Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs. They have the most unique jewelry and pottery. It can also be very windy and dusty there. You'll find yourself taking many showers....

Enjoy your stay.

What a gem! When staying in Mykonos, this wonderful beach, Plati Gialos, is the best location. You can always go into the town, Hora. The setting simply gorgeous! We, of course, checked out the hotel on Trip Advisor before choosing it. The people at the desk were friendly and very helpful. The room was magnificent! We had our adult daughter with us, so it was a triple and very large. The bathroom had a double sink, a shower, a jacuzzi tub, and a toilet that was hidden, so it could easily be used when someone was in the shower. The room was recently renovated so everything was state of the art. We had a balcony with a table and chairs and a beautiful view of the sea and the boats around the harbor. There was the beach right downstairs with a boardwalk accessing all the wonderful restaurants along the beach. When we arose in the morning, we headed across the street to the main building for a fabulous Greek breakfast. The breakfast room was by the pool area with tables inside and out. We always chose the outside area which overlooked the sea's harbor. What a view! What a relaxing place. The pool was so pretty and gave us the opportunity to choose between the beach or staying put. There is a shuttle to pick up and return to the high speed ferry (hydrofoil) dock. It was so convenient because there are so few taxis on Mykonos. Hora was beautiful to walk around, shop, and eat dinner or lunch at a restaurant. It was easily accessibe by bus right down the street. We loved it and can't wait to return.

Staying at Petinos BEACH Hotel provided us, and will provide anyone, with a truly fulfilling and high quality experience. This was our third stay at this property over a 10-year period, and it really just keeps getting better. We booked directly via e-mail with the property (attention Evgenia who is extremely capable and offers service far superior to even the finest US concierge personnel.) We would point out that you need to know that although they are side-by-side, there is a vast difference between Petinos HOTEL and Petinos BEACH HOTEL (the BEACH HOTEL being far superior to its downscale neighbor.) The property is located directly on the sea WITHOUT the view/sea prices, and is the starting point for all boats/water taxis travelling to the island's beaches which makes it super convenient if you are planning serious beach time. Even with this convenient location for beachgoing, regular on the half-hour buses also stop right in front to take you the 4km/10 minute ride to the town proper at a cost of next to nothing. We booked a junior suite, which had a huge amount of room, balcony and fantastic views of the sea for an incredibly reasonable price for the height of the summer vacation season. As we are "heavy luggage travellers" and were doing Mykonos for two weeks as part of a month in Europe, we were even moved to a larger available suite at no additional cost...again, I point to exceptional service. The restaurant is very good, and rates include a full-spread breakfast daily (and not just a bun and coffee.) Our experience with many european vacation islands and destinations is that it can be a "pry the traveller" experience during high season. This is NOT the case with Petinos BEACH HOTEL. The value was incredible and we fully got our money's worth even with a horrible Dollar-to-Euro conversion. We have travelled extensively (6 continents and over 40 trips to Europe alone) and this property is surely one of the best experiences and values to best found anywhere. We are very picky and selective travellers and generally stay with higher-end Starwood/Four Seasons/Ritz properties worldwide. We can't recommend Petinos highly enough.

For what we wanted, a comfortable room for me and my two adult sons, right next to the beach with a great view, good service and good food, the Petinos Beach Hotel was perfect. We had a Junior Suite across the street from the lobby, with a balcony overlooking the beach and harbor a few meters away. The main thing was in one minute we could be in the water on the beach or lounging by the beautiful pool side. We liked the crowds on the beach, the choice of many restaurants along the beach, and when we shut the balcony doors at night (in order to take advantage of the air conditioning) to go to sleep, there was no noise. None of us minded the 10 minute bus ride (every half an hour till 2 or 3 am in July) to Mykonos town when we wanted to head for a cafe, shopping or a change of pace. My boys enjoyed a scuba trip that left from right in front of the hotel, and other water sports activities can be rented right at the beach. The staff was very hard working, pleasant, providing clean towels twice a day, keeping the room spotless. We didn't bother turning on the TV, but in any case, don't expect much from the TV in Greece. No internet either, we used the internet cafe's in Mykonos town. The room was maybe a little pricey, close to 300 Euros for 3 people in a Junior suit but it was worth it. If you don't want to pay for a view, the rest of the Petinos hotel complex is great, with multiple pools, bars and restaurants. I was really glad not to have to walk or take a bus to get to the beach.

I booked this hotel by contacting it directly. I had read some negatives reviews here and told the manager it was my honeymoon and that I hoped for everything to be just great. She told me not to worry, that she had read the reviews and it was a pitty those people left with a negative impression of Petinos. I requested a regular wedding suite not a honeymoon suite but when we got there, the manager (or the owner) had given us THE BEST honeymoon suite they had!!!! They charged as if it were what we asked. they treated us like royalty and I coulnd't have had the best time ever. The honeymoon suite was on a top floor by itself, with 2 terraces. The private terrace overlooked the ocean and had 2 sunbeds where we would spent most evenings gazing the stars.
My husband and I loved this place and we hope to go back soon.
