“Amazing view and very friendly”

Nissaki Hotel

30 Mar 2007

I went there with my boy friend last summer and we love it. In the beginnig we are a little afraid, because we book by internte, without references, but when we arrive there, it was love at first sight.
They catch us on the ferry boat and take us there. Next to the hotel, it's a amazing beach and it's where we catch the bus to the famous Paradise and Super Paradise beach. In front of the hotel we have every 10 minutes a bus to the center. In the beach next to us, there's a lot of romantic restaurants with great food. We loved the first restaurant next to the steps to enter in the beach.
We stayed in a room with balcony. In morning we pull out the balcony to went to the pool (it's little, but friendliy, and with an amazing view).
I can say that if we return there, we will stay again there. We paid a low price for wonderfull days in mykonos!

“Nissaki or Petinos Hotel?!”

Nissaki Hotel

Although we booked to stay at the Nissaki Hotel on Psarou Beach, when we arrived we were told (not asked) that we had been given a room in the Petinos Hotel (where the reception for Nissaki Hotel is) on Platis Gialos Beach (the next beach over) as they are owned by the same people and they seemed to think it was perfectly normal to put you in a different hotel to the one you booked. We did question this (I half expected it after reading a review on tripadvisor where the same thing happened to someone else) and were told if we really wanted to we could go to the Nissaki but they recommended we didnt as the Petinos was meant to be nicer and have more facilities so we decided to stay. Not very good business practice but apart from that the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a good location - close to the beach (great beach - we never actually made it to Psarou beach in the end though!), and with a bus stop outside to go into Mykonos Town. There are also boats to other beaches.
The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable with a nice patio/terrace overlooking the garden which was very 'Mykonos' - white walls paved paths. Nice bathroom also.
No pool in the actual hotel but you could use the pool at the hotel across the road which we never did.
Overall we were pleased with our stay here and would recommend it - but I think they either need to put you in the hotel you actually chose or at least have a system where they inform you when booking that you could end up in either and check that you are happy with this as I think it is unprofessional and confusing.

“Fine but not great”

Nissaki Hotel

Upon arriving at the Nissaki after a delayed ferry ride from Santorini at 11:30pm, the Nissaki shuttle was nonetheless there to wait for us wich was a good start. However, we did not get the room that we had specifically reserved by e-mail on the second floor following recommendations by trip advisor members. We went back to the reception on the morning after to correct the reservation problem, but the reception staff argued with us that a reservation did not mean a guaranteed booking even when we showed them our e-mail reservation confirmation! A definite lack of professionalism on their part especially when considering that the room given to us was right next to the breakfast kitchen area on the main level. Our stay was fine nonetheless but all these hotels at Platys Agios are the type of packaged tourism.

“Great little hotel”

Mykonos can be horribly expensive it has loads of very expensive hotels, the hotel nissaki is a little gem of a hotel, rooms standard but very clean pool area great for relaxing, pool small but the view from the terrace is really good, buses run from right outside the hotel to mykonos town every 15 mins or so right throughout the night to the early hours and you can pick up boats to paradise and super paradise from the end of the road, we had such a nice time last year we are going back this year

“Excellent value for the money we spent”

After staying in Athens and paying 90 Euro per night for an absolutely horrible hotel, we were very nervous about our reservation in Mykonos. What a great surprise! We paid only 70 Euros for the Nissaki Hotel but it was about tens times better than the hotel in Athens.

First of all this hotel is not in Mykonos town which has its good and bad points. This hotel is in Platys Gialos Beach about a 10 minute bus ride or 5 minute scooter ride from town. Plays Gialos beach has its own restaurants , convenience stores and scooter rentals. The buses to town leave about every half hour from early in the morning till about 2am and drop you right in front of the Nissaki. Platys Gialos is a more family friendly beach and is very cute and a bit more quiet than some of the other beaches like Paradise or Super Paradise. What we found good is that when we wanted to party we'd go to town or the other beaches, but when we wanted to relax we'd stay at our hotel which was very quiet and peacful.

The rooms at Nissaki are nothing extraordinary, but they were clean and comfortable, a solid three star room. The pool area which actually overlooks another beach (which I can't remember the name of) is excellent and classical Greek with the white walls and blue trimmings. The pool is not huge but great for a dip and there are fresh water showers and plenty of areas to relax. The staff were all very helpful and all spoke English. Ask for a second floor seaview room which will have a great ocean view and balcony. All in all, great value for the money in Mykonos which can be really expensive, if you don't mind staying out of town and don't mind not having five star luxury rooms. They have a free shuttle service to pick you up form the port which is also a bonus.
