Accommodation: rooms have a good size and they are clean which are the minimum you can expect in a four stars hotel. You have a nice view with a small balcony. The rest is pity. No minibar, just an empty fridge; The TV is from the previous century and the bathroom is really basic. No attention to details here, it is as convenient as you could expect in a three stars.
Infrastructures: the hotel has a huge potential. Lobby, main building, restaurant and all terraces are beautiful. You have a nice and big gym club just below the swimming pool very well equipped. This hotel has the potential with some improvements to become a five stars.
Food & drink: no restaurant but a snack close to the swimming pool. Food is less than basic, beverage are terrible. Do not ask a glass of wine, you will get a small bottle of Greek wine unknown in Greece with a plastic top. If you are desesperate for wine in Dublin or London, it is exactly that you get in a any pub. If you are dreaming about a mixed fruit juice, you will get here a bi mixed made with kiwi and apple in a country were you can find the best orange and lemon in the world. Breakfast is average, no fresh juice fruit, which is a non sense in Greece.
Services: a good hotel is a place where you feel at home. To get this felling the key point is the quality of people. Basically, Pelican Bay Art hotel has missed completely that. Working conditions are probably not good and as client you can feel it. Forget the usual kindness of Greek people here. More importantly most of them are not professional, they are not from the catering industry and the tourism industry at all. In seven days for 38 rooms, I saw two different people working in the snack, breakfast and swimming pool. Three people were at the reception which was open 24 hours day and four different people were in charge of cleaning rooms and other staff including the kitchen. Difficult in these conditions to get the service that you will expect in a four stars.
Swimming pool: the place is nice, the terrace close to also. The quality could be increased dramatically with somebody in charge of details. Strangely, the place is often empty despite a small size in relation with the number of rooms.
Activities - Other services: in all four stars and five stars we came before in Mykonos, internet was accessible for free and hotels could organise for you different activities. Nothing like that here, internet will be charged €3 per hour and you have access to only few information books written in German mostly.
Prices: in a summer time, a standard room is €240 the night including breakfast. It is the price you will pay to the: Thraore of Mykonos, a small and very nice five stars hotel. You will need €170 to the Estraco suites for a four stars closer to a five stars. Definitively, it is overcharged for what you get here and for the location. The hotel is four kilometers from Mykonos town.
Globally, I will not recommend this hotel. It has a huge potential but hardly exploited. It is a very average four stars closer than a three than a five stars.
