The Argo is a very well-run hotel near a beautiful beach. I had a second floor room, which offered a great view of the pool area, and a partially obscured ocean view. Loved the view, and loved the little veranda, which got great early morning sunshine. The room and common areas of the hotel were very clean, and the lobby area offers two computers with free Internet access, which was a great perk. There's also a store right across the street, restaurants down the hill, and frequent bus service into Mykonos. The staff, including owner Thanasis, were very pleasant and helpful.
I enjoyed the breakfast, which is served in the pool area. Each morning, they offered a nice selection of eggs, breads, ham, cheese, cereal, yogurt, cakes, juice, and coffee or tea. The pool area also has a nice bar with extended hours.
The beach near the hotel is lovely, though crowded. I do have to say that when I was there, it was very mellow, despite the crowds.
As for Mykonos town.....beautiful, but dominated by mass tourism. Indeed, virtually the entire island is a playground for tourists. I would thus advise that if you are looking for an environment that offers some sense of "normal" Greek life, do not go to Mykonos. But again, as for the Argo itself, two thumbs up!
