The Argo hotel was great. The pool was beautiful, the room larger than we expected, and the service was impeccable. We encountered a lot of "attitude" on the greek islands (Ios, Santorini and Mykonos) that ranged from cold service, to downright rude behavior on the part of hotel staff/restaurant employees, etc. Hotel argo was a welcome refreshment from that as they did everything they could to accomodate our needs. There is a beautiful pool, the hotel could not be more convenient, and there is free internet in the lobby. For the price, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Argo at the end of August 2007--a fantastic place to stay in Mykonos. We loved the location, being that it was not admist the busy,noisy, touristy part of town, but a quick bus ride away. It is very close to the beach and lovely places to eat dinner overlooking the beach! Nikos was a great place to eat! Our room had a great little balcony that overlooked the pool and the ocean not too far away. Our room was clean, comfortable and the a/c worked well! Great to have a fridge (a must in Greece!) to store our bottles of water. Right across the street is a small store where you can purchase drinks, treats, bus tickets... We must say the included breakfast was excellent! Loved the yogurt and fresh fruit! What a lovely setting to enjoy breakfasts and lunches (very yummy too!) in the newly constructed pool and bar area. Gorgeous pool! Thannis (sp?), the owner is a very thoughtful and warm person (so is his sister and mom!). For my husband's 50th Birthday and our Anniversary (same day), he sent up a tray to our room with fresh fruit, homemade absolutely delicious cake right out of the oven and a bottle of wine! The staff was so kind and helpful and made our stay really special! This is a real treasure and we are very grateful for such a lovely stay.

Spent 2 nights there on our Greece trip. We researched the hotel using Trip Advisor and it more than lived up to the reviews. We were picked up at the ferry (and we hadn't even told them how or what time we were arriving) and the friendly staff made our stay perfect. We would go back to Argo anytime!! The beach was just a few yards away, the bus stop was right outside the entrance, and the pool bar has great shots. The breakfast was excellent out by the pool, and our room was freshly renovated and very spacious and modern (the nicest one we stayed in during our 10 day trip to Greece and the most reasonably priced, especially for the quality and service we got). Thanassis and Matula were the best. AND they gave us a ride to the airport on our way out of Mykonos. AWESOME!!

A nice family-run hotel with clean rooms, good breakfast and a nice pool area. Service in the hotel is very good and in line with the mid-level cost of the accomodation.

Do bear in mind that the beach in Platys (5 mins walk from the hotel) is "organized" which means that you have to pay for a beach parasol and lounger (10 to 12 euros). There isn't really any space to just put down a beach towel and enjoy.

Concerning the town of Platys Gialos and Mykonos generally however, there is a serious trash problem. The streets of Mykonos town, Platys and the beaches are quite dirty. Even the countryside is littered (plastic bottles and bags, glass, abandoned jet skis and cars, cigarette butts).
