Absolutely super hotel...
Pools were fantastic, really big, heated as when we were there it was a bit cloudy and cooler for a couple of days, but we still sat outside! On the very hot days it was beautiful! Lots and lots of sunbeds, so really easy to get one... some towels were out early and we just wanted to lie in so some days we had to move sunloungers around the pool to remain in the sun!!
Food was brilliant, lots and lots of selection, always great salads and fish and meat to choose from. 10/10 There's something for everyone from chips to cooked meat and fresh fish. Breakfasts were served til 10 - pleanty of time.
The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, tidy, marble, very very classy!
Rooms were fantastic, nothing out of the ordinary, clean, tidy, lots of british channels on the tv - no tea and coffee machine, but that wasn't expected - could easily purchase in the pool area.
Evening entertainment was average, nothing fantastic, but nice, there's a lovely big lounge area outside of the evening entertainment room, and that was super to sit and chill out at - read books or play pool, theres 3 pool tables!
You did have to pay for the gym and sauna though, and book the sauna for an hour - its something we didnt do though.
Location - wonderful! walk through the hotel gates by the pool and you're on the walk way alongside the sea front... the beach isn't sandy, you can't sunbathe right there, but a 15 min walk to the other side of LC and theres a man made beautiful beach. LC was lovely to walk into - 10min and you were right int he centre, lots of lovely littel shops, mostly commercial, restaurants, not many bars (this isn't a night club/time place)
Right next to (and I mean next to) the hotel is the weekly sunday market - its beautiful! wonderful experience, packed, its sooo busy so get there early and then we went again when they were packing away to get some dirt cheap handbags!! haggle away!
the hotel was suitable for all ages, there was a huge mix of ages of people, not many childern, but then we were out of season!
myself and my best friend (mid 20s) wanted a bit of nightlife, so we'd go into Playas - the first night we walked it (took 2 hours with a half hour cocktail stop in the middle) i wouldn't walk it again, but it was great just to wlka alonside the seafront, and there are lots of tourists around, it felt really safe! the hotel suggested a walk to the bus stop and get a bus in, but i have to say it was a bit of a walk - a good 20mins walk to get a bus to get to Americas...
also went with my parents (mid 50s) and they rented a car so tehy drove us in, took about 7 mins by car, if that, and then we got a taxi back - the hotel was ace too they'd call a taxi if we wanted - a taxi back at 2am cost about 9 - 10 euros (again this is out of season)
oh and when we got back to the hotel at 2am, we had to swipe cards to get in and there was a security guard there always making sure we could get in - he became our friend after a week!!!
it was a fab compromise becuase we had a beautiful quite hotel in the day and night life was in playas if we watned it!
there's an iceland (spar type shop) that sells pretty much every little snack thing, so get bottled water from there to drink and there's fizzy pop, salad snacks, biscuits and some frozen food if you're in apartments - reasonably cheap - it matched english prices!
Definitely go back, it was wonderful , worth every penny!!!
