My boyfriend and i are both in our early 20's and we visited the hotel in december 2006.
we were impressed with the hotel and had a great time i just want to take the opportunity to share our thoughts on some of the things which made it enjoyable and some minor problems we encountered!
On arrival we were really impressed by the free bottles of water at reception and helpfulness of staff. This didnt last long however as we sent in totally the wrong direction when being directed to our room! after 20 minutes looking and a very apologetic man from reception we found it! The room was a good size especially the bathroom but at the same time quite basic. we read the reviews on here before booking the holiday so went prepared to the fact that most tv channels were in german! it was really disappointing though especially when we were unlucky with the weather that there was nothing to watch except the news over and over!
The main and only major problem we had with the hotel is the noise early in the morning of the cleaners wheeling their trollies along and cleaning the near by rooms! This may have been due to the location of our room however as other holiday makers we spoke to hadn't been woken. Some people may not be bothered by this as i think the earliest we were woken was 7.20 but the main purpose of our holiday was to get some sleep as we're up early every day at home with a young baby!
The hotel itself was lovely with one of the areas being particually nicer than the other, the food was amazing! some people say it was repetative but i personally didnt think so, they did however seem to like having pork on the menu quite often! and after 7 days of fruit and ice cream i would have loved a large slice of cake!
The entertainment in the evening was quite comical with "the animation" team trying to cater for people of all nationalities, some shows were better than others but was nice to sit and have something to watch. Very impressed with the alcohol, beer and wine is on tap although beware its not the most expensive or nicest choice! measures at the bar were extreemly generous and there was never a queue, would definately recommend the cocktails.
On arrival we were issued with "pass cards" which would allow us to get in and out of the hotel gates in an evening. However when we visited the mechanism wasn't working to open the gate so we found that most people were "breaking in" by pushing the latch back with the card itself!
We found the free sauna and jacuzzi in the wellness centre lovely, we just wish we'd realised they were free before our last day!
The hetel staff were some of the friendliest we've ever met! you were always greated with a hello and a smile even in passing in the corridors - it was a lovely touch!
It is true that about 70% of the other guests are german and after reading one of the other reviews on here that "you may be stared at like an animal in a zoo if you're british" we went with an open mind, unfortunately in some cases we did find this to be true, especially in the restaurants.
One main thing to note is that although in holiday brochures etc it states that 2 swimming pools are heated in winter, we found that there is a law in spain which says they are not to be heated over 26 degrees which means they are infact, still really cold!
overall we had a fantastic time and would definately go back, the minor problems we encountered didn't put us off! would certainly reccomend!
