We stayed for two nights in this really lovely hotel. Our room overlooked the canal - a must as the view is amazing. everything was perfect - the location and the staff were very helpful. The parking was a bonus as it can be difficult to find a parking space.

We had never visited Sete before and as always used Trip Advisor to select our hotel. I chose the Le Grand based on its position and the reviews.
We located the hotel and managed to park outside whilst unloading the baggage from the car, the reception was good and the receptionist very polite and spoke good English we were given our room key offered help but we declined and squeezed into the small lift. We came out onto a walkway surrounding a large covered courtyard that looked quite away down from the third floor. The passageway to the room was very thin and difficult to navigate with large bags and reminded me of the prison walkways in the film “Birdman of Alcatraz”
We got to our room, I had opted to pay extra for a large room which I think was a mistake. The room was one that was featured in their web site and was supposed to have an African theme. It certainly was large and so was the bathroom comfortable but quirky rather than luxurious. .
I went to move the car to the separate garage, this is located just a few meters from the hotel but because of the one way system required going round and joining the busy road again but managed to find the parking area and parked the car in a very secure parking area.
The hotel is located just a few minutes walk to the quayside which is lined with restaurants and a good shopping area. The restaurant in the hotel looked very good but we wanted something more “local”, and we found a wonderful restaurant very close to the fish market and the fish was delivered direct to the restaurant by a fisherman straight off his boat.
After the meal we returned to the hotel and had a very relaxing drink in the courtyard area which is very comfortable furnished and with wonderful sculptures. Service here was excellent. I ordered a Macchiato coffee which as usual was not a proper Macchiato but was exchanged with no fuss and the correct and excellent Macchiato was delivered
We had a a very good nights sleep the room was very quiet and wonder if this would be the same for those on the front with the view.
Breakfast was usual French but enjoyable in the surroundings of the enclosed courtyard, I think better value breakfast could be found in the 100’s of local cafés.
The Bill was as expected but on the expensive side at just below €200 for Bed and breakfast, and the large room not worth the extra. I would describe it as a adequate overnight stay, slightly expensive but probably the best in Sete

I stayed at Le Grand Hotel for four nights in January. The hotel was marvelous; an old and spacious building with lots of art and large plants in the open areas. My room had a balcony and faced the canals, which gave me a very nice view. The room was quiet and clean, and the only thing I missed was a stable wifi connection - there was free wifi, but it only worked part of the time. The hotel is located in an area with lots of bars and restaurants. A very nice hotel and highly recommended!

Sete was not originally in our itinerary until I saw the great reviews of the place and of this hotel in this website. The room was clean, nice and spacious, as were the bathrooms. Nothing fancy, but it was relaxing and we had small balcony with a great view of the canal with the little boats. There is also free wifi connection. The breakfast was pretty good and served at a nice atrium section of the hotel. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to try the restaurant for dinner. We got caught up watching the joutes (jousting) junior league competition across the street! That was a lot fun. Sete is a lovely little fishing village. The hotel is centrally located with many restaurants, shops, boulangeries, bookstores and a bank nearby. It's also close to the train station (cab ride was not expensive). We felt like we were the only tourists, but didn’t feel like we were being intrusive. The locals were very nice and friendly. The hotel staff is very nice too. I would definitely go back!

Our second stay in this hotel. Our room was small but had a great view of the quay. Try for Room 104 or a similar room. It has views from both sides and is much larger but was booked. Our room was clean and the only drawback was the lack of an actual shower. There is only the hand held spray device.

Book ahead as the hotel was filled for two of the three nights we were there.

Only drawback is the garage. It is close by but easy to miss. It is small, narrow and dark.

The hotel is a short walking distance to all of the wonderful sea food restaurants.
