Have stayed at this hotel 3 times now in the last year, and it's always been a pleasure!
Great value hotel, at £49 per night for a double room with breakfast.
Marketed primarily as a 'city hotel', for business, rather than a holiday hotel. There is an outdoor pool, but I'm not sure what other facilities there are. It's not really in a touristy area or resort, but only five mins walk away from Gibraltar itself.
The rooms are extremely spacious, modern, and absolutely spotless, with masses of wardrobe space.
Each room has it's own (sometimes huge) balcony, with table and chairs, so you can sit and admire the great view across to Algeciras, and of course the magificent Rock of Gibraltar. Great also to sit and watch the amazing sunsets over the bay.
Only down side of rooms is we've always ended up with two beds pushed together (and made up as separate beds), rather than a double. The beds aren't joined at all, so one of you ends up falling down the ever increasing gap in the middle as the beds slowly slide apart on the tiled floor. So you've got no chance of cuddling up with your partner! ;-)
I don't know if the hotel actually has any double beds?
Take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper, as all rooms have tiled floors. So if the person upstairs is wearing stilettos, and comes in at 2am click clacking in their heels, you'll know about it!
Bathrooms are great, piles of towels and positively sparkling clean. Plenty of space to store all your lotions and potions.
Some rooms have huge walk in shower, some have bath with shower over.
The size of your room seems to depend on whether you're staying for one night or several. Longer stay means bigger room, and balcony big enough to have a party on.
Breakfast is an all you can eat sort of affair, with literally everything you can think of. Usual things like fruits, cereals, sauages, bacon & eggs, pastries, spanish cold meats, cheeses etc but also some rather more 'unusual' dishes, like peas and carrots, and leeks one morning!
We've always found the reception staff to be polite and helpful, although some speak limited English.
The hotel has a free, underground, secure car park for guests.
