Been to Sorrento many times since it opened around 2010 and felt I had to review to echo the comments of many of the other reviews. This has to be one of the best restraunts in PDC.
Firstly the staff are very welcoming but not in your face trying to drag you in, like many of the places that surround Sorrento. They are extremely helpfull and are able to converse easily with any nationality or ages from young children, who they seem to adore and can't help but fuss over, right up to older guests who you can see are treated with the upmost respect.
We firsts visited in early 2010 towards the end of holiday unfortunately so we could only visit the one, but when we returned later in the year they instantly remembered us which I think is a very nice touch considering how many people visit this place.
The waiters are fantastic to have a laugh and a joke with prentending to knock bottles over then passing menus all around the table, the atmosphere of the restraunt is so relaxed and welcoming you instantly feel relaxed.
I've seen some complaints about the length of time you wait for your food, all I have to say is if you want fast food go to McDonalds!!!
We have visited this restraunt all throughout the year, March, April, July, September we have never waited more than 30-40 minutes for our food. The time flys by in this restraunt anyway because of the great atmosphere.
Now for the food which is by far the greatest part of this restraunt. Each time we have been they have had a variety of specials from fish to meat and even vegetarian options. On our last visit in July 2012 there was a Lamb special which I was very surprised about after going to Lanzarote for over 15 years not many restraunts have Lamb on their menu. This was absolutely to die for, cooked to perfection. On other visits I've had the pizzas, which are all cooked fresh on show so great for the kiddies to be able to watch, steaks are brilliant always cooked perfectly to your taste, the pasta is authentic and a wide variety of sauces available.
Even though this is Italian they do typically Spanish dishesh such as paella and chorizo sausage which all look brilliant. The presentation of your food is also immaculate and portion sizes are astutely sufficient.
Desserts are always fresh on display, one recommendation would be the Sorrento special. You get a selection of all the fresh deserts they have and a glass of champagne. We have had this as an individual but also to share between 2 or 3 and they change the portion sizes accordingly and everyone gets some champagne.
All in all if you are staying in PDC you MUST visit this restraunt you won't be disappointed.
