I stayed in Plaza Palmeras last summer for two weeks and absolutely loved it! The people were really friendly, the apartment was cleaned regularly & reception were more than happy to deal with any problems. The swimming pool was freezing but considering Lanzarote was experiencing a heat wave during our stay..we weren't too bothered! The 'hill' that many people have moaned about is really nothing to worry about, it's more of an uphill stroll than anything else.
The location of the complex itself is fantastic - really close to all local amenities. About 3 minutes down the road from the complex is a Netto where you can do all your shopping relatively cheaply. About 5 minutes down the road you come to the beach/sea and all the pubs/bars. The people in my party last year were all 18 or above and we had some immense nights out in Puerto Del Carmen - there are a lot of people stood outside clubs who try to entice you in & you can get some really good deals out of them (we always had a free bottle of champagne, free shots and buy one get one free on drinks before we agreed to go in!). But if you're after a quiet holiday then if you just walk on the other side of the pavement you can easily avoid this. The resort caters for a wide range of people.
We also went on a lot of trips during our stay - which were very easy to arrange through the rep at the apartments. I would definitely recommend the boat trip to Fuerteventura (although our crossing was horrendous & i would not go if you suffer with sea sickness!). The camel ride & tour of the monuntains was also a great experience.
One thing i would say is that you should be wary of security - we had two apartments and on numerous occasions our friends 'broke in' to our apartment very easily using a driving license & also if you are staying in a group and you can't get into your apartment because one of your friends has the key - reception are very eager to lend you the spare key without asking any questions or proof you are staying in that room.
But on the whole this was an awesome holiday and i would definitely go back to Plaza Palmeras again. I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as i did.
