“Loved it!”

Plaza Palmeras

I stayed in Plaza Palmeras last summer for two weeks and absolutely loved it! The people were really friendly, the apartment was cleaned regularly & reception were more than happy to deal with any problems. The swimming pool was freezing but considering Lanzarote was experiencing a heat wave during our stay..we weren't too bothered! The 'hill' that many people have moaned about is really nothing to worry about, it's more of an uphill stroll than anything else.

The location of the complex itself is fantastic - really close to all local amenities. About 3 minutes down the road from the complex is a Netto where you can do all your shopping relatively cheaply. About 5 minutes down the road you come to the beach/sea and all the pubs/bars. The people in my party last year were all 18 or above and we had some immense nights out in Puerto Del Carmen - there are a lot of people stood outside clubs who try to entice you in & you can get some really good deals out of them (we always had a free bottle of champagne, free shots and buy one get one free on drinks before we agreed to go in!). But if you're after a quiet holiday then if you just walk on the other side of the pavement you can easily avoid this. The resort caters for a wide range of people.

We also went on a lot of trips during our stay - which were very easy to arrange through the rep at the apartments. I would definitely recommend the boat trip to Fuerteventura (although our crossing was horrendous & i would not go if you suffer with sea sickness!). The camel ride & tour of the monuntains was also a great experience.

One thing i would say is that you should be wary of security - we had two apartments and on numerous occasions our friends 'broke in' to our apartment very easily using a driving license & also if you are staying in a group and you can't get into your apartment because one of your friends has the key - reception are very eager to lend you the spare key without asking any questions or proof you are staying in that room.

But on the whole this was an awesome holiday and i would definitely go back to Plaza Palmeras again. I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as i did.

This was the first time my husband & I had traveled to Lanzarote.
We booked late for a relaxing, do nothing, recharge your batteries holiday, and had a good deal.
On our arrival at the complex we were greeted by a friendly receptionist.
Our room was on the main road, and on the first night this caused a problem with traffic and people coming back late from the town. We asked to be moved the next morning and our request was met without any hesitation, we were given a room on the opposite side of the complex which was very quiet at night. But there was one problem, we arrived on the Thursday and by the Monday we had not had any clean towels, the beds had not been changed and no cleaning had been done. I went to reception who were very apologetic, they assured me that the problem would be rectified the next day and a note was made in the diary. All was done apart from the bed change. I again went to reception and was told it would be put right the next day. I eventually gave up as we were returning home on the Thurs. So we had no clean bed linen for the week. We could only put this error down to the fact that we had changed rooms, as having spoken to other guest, they did not incur the same problem.
The rooms themselves need much updating and the beds are not the most comfortable. Remember you have to pay for toasters etc., The pool area is exceptionally clean and on the whole the complex is good. Because we went in May it seemed quiet with not a lot going on during the day, but this did not worry us as we prefer the beaches.
There is a local Netto store about 200mtrs down the road and this is cheaper than the supermarket on site.
We found a lovely little cove away from the main strip. This is found by walking down the hill, turning left, crossing the road, and walking past the Ola restaurant, you have to look very carefully between the shops and follow the steps/path down. There is a great small restaurant/bar there called Teraza Playa, the food is great & staff very friendly. Another bar/restaurant we enjoyed was The Typical Spanish bar at the far end of the strip, to the right. If you are a fan of burgers/steaks/chips etc., you won't go hungary, but we prefer something a bit more tranditionally spanish. The harbour is a very bustling place with lots going on. Lots of places to eat.
Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday, and if we needed a quick, get away from it all holiday at a cheap price, then we would go back.

The best part of the complex is the pool/bathing area - quite pretty and roomy with lots of free beds. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The apartments are very basic ( I expected this as it was rated a ** star) and cleaned freqently ( bedding and towels were spotless) but overall could do with updating - a little fusty, nicotene stained woodwork, old stains on the sofa - overall appearance was careworn. We encountered ants in the apartment but the worst thing by far was the level of noise due to very poor sound proofing. We could hear others clearly, hence didn't sleep too well!
The location is ideal for self-catering as there are numerous places to eat which are well situated overlooking the coastline. I would recommend the chinese restaurant at the bottom of the hill - surperb! Also Hannover II is a small place ( looks rather insignificant from the outside and easily overlooked) but the food and service is of a very good quality.
The hill can be quite tricky to negotiate as the paths are laid with ceramic tiles and so are very slippery and a hazard, particularly for the older generation.

my husband and i are just back from plaza palmeras and had a really good holiday ,the aptmts are basic but they are spotlessely clean .staff are friendly and helpful. we wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to others. this was our first trip to lanzarote and i found the island to be really picturesque with all the lowrise whitewashed buildings, a nice change from majorca or benidorm.

We arrived in the afternoon on February 28th to a very short and exciting coach journey ! It took about 15 minutes and when entering Puerto del Carmen i was really enjoying the site of what i called the "Spanish Blackpool"

We got to the Apartment and was welcomed friendy by the receptionist , whom was bothsmiley and promt !

Its a great place with the rooms situated around 3 sides of the pool and a large bar/resteraunt at the other side .

The rooms are both ideal and clean , you did see the odd ant near the verander doors but to be honest werever you go you can not stop nature !
Saying that I didnt see 1 cockroach all week wherever we went.

You do however have to pay for the television through a coin slot attached to the television - 1 euro = 40 mins , you do get a good selection of english channels aswell , imho you aint there to watch tv are ya !

The maid came and cleaned everyday except on the weekend but if your like us n tidy up after yourselves this wasn't a burden .

The pool(s) are quite fairly sized, but i am a beach person myself so didnt really use them.
They was cleaned every morning aswell.

Lots of shops on the strip .

Good bars - I reccomend to the Hippodrome !! It had great music a large screen with various entertainment playing . You got 2 pints for 4 Euro and free shots all night .
If you go , and see India(The bar girl) tell her Joe n Chelle say Hi .

A Great holiday - Enjoyed It and would deffinetly stay at Plaza Palmeras again ......
