We arrived at the plaza Azul in good spirits after what we had read on the review sites, stating that the plaza azul is a great place to stay ,believe me this is a total lie! When we arrived we went to our room which was on the ground floor, the entrance to the apartment was through patio doors which were totally unsafe and could of easily been broken into. The apartment was in complete darkness due to there being shutters on the windows. i took my shoes of ready to unpack and within 2 minutes my feet were covered in dirt, the floor obviously had not been cleaned for days. When i went into the bathroom there were cigarette dimps in the toilet that someone had obviously tried to flush away, the bath had all shower gel inside so this had not been cleaned. As i opened the cupboards to look at the plates and cups, we realised that the cups had been used as ash trays and had not been cleaned. The plates and cutelry were dirty with food remains on them, the glasses had mouth marks around the rims it was disgusting. The towels were also not clean the whole apartment was a complete nightmare. A tent on the beach would be a better place to stay than here! Anyway we didnt even get to spend a night here as we complained straight away along with many other people and we were moved to different apartments across the way. i just thought i would warn people that the plaza azul is not the place to go if you want a nice clean apartment!!

After spending some time researching accomodation in Lanzarote we are really pleased we chose the Plaza Azul.
One bedroom apartment was spotless, bright, nice balcony with almost everything we needed ( No hairdryer ladies but you can rent one from reception for 9 Euro !!)
Apartments were really quiet while we were there but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Supermarket not great, use one of the others on the hill. The location was a big bonus, at the top of an incline but only 5-10 minutes from the beach and the resort nightlife, which had everything from quiet bars to night clubs in the commercial centre..
Try booking seperately like we did, saved some money and lots of taxis at airport were only around 12 Euro each way ( a travel operator quoted an extra £50 for transfers !!)
Lanzarote was a pleasant surprise for a last minute break and as a young couple who like a good standard of accomodation would definately stay at the Plaza Azul again.

The staff at Plaza Azul were so friendly and welcoming and couldnt have done more to make our stay more comfortable.
The apartments were immaculate and cleaned 5x in our 7 night holiday, we had a balcony off the lounge overlooking the pool and a second smaller balcony off the bedroom.
The pool and gardens were maintained every day, all in all a really lovely place to stay...... we got home and booked up to go again this summer.

hey!! i am staying in plaza azul apartments the last 8 years i love it, the staff are so nice, its a safe place, and just down the road from the beach and niteclubs . plaza azul is suited 4 every1 couples, family and young people. once you stay in plaza azul you will want to go back again and again!! i met so many friends in plaza azul and 1 still works their "jamie" and he is one of my closes friends, so if you are wondering weather 2 stay in this hotel r not ,DO!! You wont regret xxx
