Beatriz in Playa is really a 2 *. The Beatriz in Teguise looks a lot more like you would expect a 3/4 * to be. The Beatriz Playa is a massive hotel and has a kind of Butlins feel.

If you would like to experience high quality Spanish / Canarian food, you will not find it here. They have the all inclusive deal which lots of Brits choose, the Beatriz really does not have to worry about the qulaity / freshness of the food served. There are however some decent places to eat nearby. Cable TV is in German and Spanish. No Internet connection in room. All Rooms have a decent view of see. Hotel is very dated, however location is excellent.

If I had booked this Hotel as a 2 *, I would have been very pleased.

After visiting many 4 star hotels on Lanzorote The Beatrix Playa is in my opinion NOT anywere near a 4 Star Hotel!!!
The rooms were clean but very worn i.e most of the walls were painted in two different colours as if they had just moved the furniture and painted the area that was left showing a different colour! We later found out after conversations round the pool that most of the rooms were in this condition.
We had been promised on booking that we were in a sea view room, the only way we could have seen the sea was if my partner had held onto my legs whilst I leant as far as possible over the balcony, after mentioning this to our Rep she told us the hotel was fully booked and we couldn't be moved even though the hotel was half empty.
We stayed half board and the first week the food was good even though we did have to queue a couple of times for the evening meal. The second week was different the dining area halved in size and the food was as if they just invented dishes with whatever ingredients that they had to hand.
The shows were good but whilst waiting for the shows to start on an evening all the entertainment was either in Spanish or German with a small bit of broken english thrown in, so unless you are fluent in these languages then half the time you couldn't understand what was going on.
We will not be returning to this hotel but will return to Matagorda as it's a beautiful place to relax and catch some sun!!

We have just returned from a two week holiday in the Beatriz Playa and we will not be returning.
They are advertised on travel agent website and their own website as been a 4 ****, firstly this is not what i would consider to be a 4**** hotel .I don' know and can't understand how are they getting away with advertising it as such..

On arrival the reception area looks really good and is very impressive but unfortunately thats where it ends.

When we were booking our holiday we made a special request for a double room however when checking in we were informed that it was not a double but a twin room and that they could not give us a double room as the hotel was full!
This is not good enough as we booked our holiday six months in advance.

The room was a large room but was so grubby .
The rooms are in need of a total refurbishment and modernisation.

The breakfast area was a shambles, on two of the mornings there was no boiling water left in the boiler .There was tea pots with no lids on them , there was an abundance of food but in serious need of supervision .

The pool area was like a builders yard in parts , there was workmen working and i found it very disruptive and annoying.
I will not be recommending this hotel.

Stayed with my husband for three night and four days end of nov to beginning of december 2007. Hotel a bit run down, not quite four star, more 2/3 star. Staff friendly. Don't take room 3106 if you go there in the winter no sun on balcony as room in corner near front of hotel. We went half board but having been given our time for our sitting which was the second sitting in the evening, we were told we would have to queue if we wanted to sit inside the dining room otherwise sit outside, which had no atmosphere as it looked out into the courtyard in the centre of the hotel. The weather was also quite cool to be sitting outside. The first diners where still having their meals and we all know how long the spanish, italians spend over their meals. We were therefore disappointed and did not return to eat their again. We used the many restaurants in the resort which are very cheap. You are not allowed to bring drinks in glasses to the pool, even though you have purchased them for the hotel bar. You are given beer in a plastic coke cup!!! Who want to drink cold beer out of plastic cups. We are adults and we can use glasses. the hotel is right beside the airport so can be very noisy, but we didnt really notice after first day. Enterainment in the hotel, but bar area where this took place was not very inviting looking so we did'nt bother. Also they have a hairdresser in the hotel, which is great and which I used but the hairdresser herself has not a word of english! Would not return to this hotel would have been better off staying in an apartment and eaten out.
