Having stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels all over the world, including H10s, to say that this is four-star hotel is really stretching the imagination. (Maybe a 3*)(With a following wind)

Upon arrival I was amazed to find no one to help with the luggage, no one at reception and when we did attract someone’s attention we were informed that the room would not be ready for an hour or so (We arrived at 1.30pm). Two hours later we found our room complete with sea view (Had to argue about that even though we paid the premium). The smell from the bathroom was appalling; we were informed that it was due to the recent rains???? Whets that all about?? In fact the whole hotel stank of fish and rice, (I know its popular in Spain) the furnishings were run down and repaired badly, Beds very uncomfortable and the bathroom only just adequate, at least the shower curtain was clean.

We stayed on a half board basis and wish we never had, everything is buffet, shocked to see elderly and infirm people wandering around with boiling cups of tea and coffee, after the first diner service, (A rugby scrum and very limited choice and zero service)(breakfast is no better, possible worse), we decided to eat out every night, Average bill £45.00 quite expensive after 6 nights, and we had to run the gauntlet of touts every night.

All in all, a very poor hotel, badly in need of major renovation, it is about 30 years old and looks it. Shabby, down at heal, and the service is pathetic, reflecting the overall feel of the place, Try and get someone to bring you a drink at the pool or in a lounge, not a chance....

Location is good, easy walking distance to numerous bars and eateries, would we go again?, a definite yes but not to this hotel, Not even to visit a friend...

after,staying 1 week at this hotel,i can only say it was the worst hotel ive ever stayed.the only good thing was the location.the food was so bad we had to eat out every day.on arrival 1 of the beds wasnt clean,and had to have it changed.even to get room service was a problem.this hotel is defintely not a 4 star,it needs a good refurbish.and last but not least we had a bottle of aftershave,that we had bought for a present,taken by the cleaning staff.my advice to anyone thinken of booking this hotel is dont.

Stayed at the H10 Gran Tenerife from jan 5th for a week.
On arrival to the hotel me and my boyfriend pulled up outside the hotel and first impressions were quite good. Once you step inside and see all the swiss pine and outdated furniture, i then started to wonder what our room was going to be like.
Service at check in was very standard and we was up in our room within 5minutes, we stayed on the 9th floor which made us think we would get excellent views. The room was small, very basic and the furniture had not been changed in 30 years as you could tell by its standard. The balcony looked right onto the back of other hotels, no sea view but we expected not to get one as we only booked for standard room.
The hotel in general was quite big and there were differant areas to which you could sunbathe in the day, or if u fancied the beach that was just a short walk from the side of the hotel, bearing in mind u had to pay 4 euros each for a bed.
Our board basis was on bed and breakfast and boy was we glad we didnt go half board after eating the breakfast every morning, there wasnt the greatest deal of choice and if u wanted a fry up u would be very dissapointed with the choice, me and my partner ended up sticking to cereal and toast every morning which we got sick of after a week, we even ended up missing the breakfast a couple of mornings it was that bad.
Anyhow enough of the boring complaints away from the hotel we did actually enjoy the holiday. We ventured out everyday and went for walks when it was cloudy, which was everyday in the afternoon. We ate out at a couple of nice restaurants, italian, chinese, spanish and ending up spending quite a small fortune.
We only had one night in the las americas centre, veronica's which we didnt like at all, we found it to be very dingy, dirty and just full of drunken kids. Instead we went to a couple of karoke bars, went to watch a comedian which was hillarious, a must see. We also went up to los cristianos a couple of nights were we had friends staying and i must say i much more prefer to stay up there if we go again.
It was our 7th visit to tenerife and we always go in the first week of jan but this year was just so dissapointing for accomodation and the weather. I would recommend before staying in this hotel of any other for that matter, that you do your homework and read up on it before you go, or you might be quite dissapointed like we were.

H10 are a curious group of hotels, some are outstanding others not so good. The Gran Tinerfe probably falls somewhere in between. We were allocated a tiny room on the 10th floor (1010) with limited sea view and no balcony. We asked for a room change and were promised a change the following morning. We were happier with our re allocated room which was a "bungalow" with direct access to the swimming pool and was twice the size of the original room. It was however rather dated and old fashioned with no clock, an ancient tv and only the News Channels in English. We found the whole hotel to be rather dated and although there has been some refurbishment, it still retains that old fashioned feeling. The food was quite good the low points being the undercooked bacon and eggs at breakfast and unless you like fish or pork you might struggle at the main course at dinner. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and although the price of the compulsory Gala New Year Dinner was outrageous, it was in fairness a lovely way to bring in the New Year. As previously pointed out, the location is Americas rather then Adeje but as it is on the beach it was fine for us. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will choose another hotel for our next trip to Tenerife.
