From the moment we were picked up from the airport by the Vencia shuttle bus - nothing was too much trouble for the brilliant staff at the Vencia. The lovely Stella on reception was a font of knowledge and always smiling, the restaurant girls were just so friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is smart, cool and airy with the most beautiful pool area set high above Mykonos town complete with infinity pool (pool towels provided also). Pool side massages can be booked also. Many of the rooms overlook the pool and bay and are well worth the extra cost as it is a perfect place to watch the sunset. Ground floor pool view rooms have terraces and first floor have small balconies. The rooms have a fridge to keep your 'sunset watching' drinks cold and the hotel has no problem with you buying these in the local supermarkets, despite the fact that they have their own bar. Our room was cool and spacious with attractive muslin curtains and colourful cushions. Great shower rooms too - designer fittings (including overhead "drench" shower and square basin. They also provide good quality toiletries and slippers, although the advertised bathrobes were not provided.
Buffet breakfast was included and there was plenty to choose from each day. We ate lunch on the terrace and we thought it was good value and well prepared. Again, served by the cheerful and friendly waitresses.
Vencia would certainly not be suitable if you had restricted mobility as it is set high above Mykonos about 10 mins from the centre of town and involves a steep climb to and from the hotel. However, we found it was great for walking off all the extra food we were eating.!
I can honestly say that I was completely relaxed within a few hours of arriving and felt that the hotel is professionally managed. When we arrived back at the hotel after a few days on another island we were greeted like old friends - we will definitely return.
