This hotel was brilliant for us - two adults. It is a very clean & very smart hotel. The staff were pleasant and we found them to be helpful also. Food was very nice (especially the desserts), and there was plenty of choice. We were a little apprehensive at first, as it seemed to be a long way from the resort, but there is a bus-stop outside the complex which runs regularly into town one way, and out to the free thermal springs the other way. Trip to town aproximately 8 minutes. On having been around the island, we decided that the Panorama is one of the best places to stay. Very peaceful in the evenings, with limited entertainment. Even quieter during the day. But it's so easy to get the bus into town! That's where we went. Buses run until midnight. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

    • Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — you can buy bus tickets at reception (they are one-way) so buy two per person for a return.

“Great Hotel in Wrong Location”

Iberostar Kipriotis Panorama

10/11 found this review helpful

Myself, Wife and daughter aged 9 have just returned from a weeks stay at the Panorama hotel. Most of he hotel is justified by its 5 Stars with spacious clean rooms and beautiful views. We had booked a junior suite, which was by other standards big. We stayed on a half-board basis, and were advised that you can upgrade to all inclusive, having previously done this at another 5 star hotel, we decided not to do this, which we later found out to be a good choice. Most of the staff at the hotel were friendly, some of the reception staff couldn't be more helpful, two require a bit of further customer management training. On 3 occasions we overheard customers argue over their bills, maybe a bit to much to drink on the night, as one gentleman insited he DID pay the waiter for the 7th round of drinks. The food selection is good, great salad selection and a reasonable variety for the main meal, although after the second day of eating salads, we did notice an abundance of flies crawling over the cold meats, salads and fresh fruits, the hotel could do with an extractor to combat this. From then on we stuck to the cooked selections which were always piping hot and freshly prepared, although over the week a bit repetative. The dining room is spacious and there were never any problems with being served, the staff were very good and cleared the tables very quickly after each course. A limited but varied wine selection was available from the bar and our average was about 23 Euros, although there was the house wines available, at about half this price. The sweet selection was excellent. The food did get a little boring after a while, and as I previously mentioned eating there all day was not a good option. We tended to travel into Kos Town for lunch where we had variations from the Fish Corner to the Italian Restaurant amongst the tourist area, great pasta. There was a severe lack of entertainment at this hotel, there was only 'one man and his organ' (someone tell him he can't sing), stick to playing the organ. There was no atmosphere in the evenings. You can use any of the other three hotels facilities which we visited and soon left. There seemed to be a little more atmosphere at these hotels and a bit more rowdy. At the Kos Bay the health and safety people would have had a field day due to the poor lighting around the pool area and although also supposed to be a 5 star this was questionable. As we were leaving the Kos Bay Hotel we were advised that you could actually cross the road and enter the Panorama at the 6th floor and take the lift down to reception, this side of the hotel was not very good and the security was non existent as we walked through the hotel unchallenged, therefore so could anyone else. The pool area is good and our daughter loved all three pools, although plenty of sun beds, the Hotels ruling of not booking a bed was clearly flaunted and we found ourselves on several occasions without a sunbed and having to wait until they returned from the bars and vacated them without having been used. Lots of Germans staying here so the pool bar was constantly surrounded, and if you didn't have that little band on, then you could have quite a long wait. The adjacent taverna bar was good for light snacks and the odd drink. On an evening we went down the hill and left into the little Taverna, better atmosphere! The hotel mini market sells soft drinks, and most other items , all at quite competetive prices even compared to some places in Kos Town, also a good price on water shoes if you intend going down to the sea. The " beach" area is not good as there is no sand, it is pebbles and hurts to walk on, we walked along the "beach" towards the now disused water park but gave in on our return and used the roadway instead. MY TRAVEL representation and Customer Information (No notice board and out of date manual) was very poor, so beware.Coach transfer very prompt and only about 40 minutes. Overall, I would say this hotel is of Great Standards certainly worth the 5 Stars as far at the quality of rooms, appearance and staffing is concerned just not a great Location, We do like a relaxing holiday but prefer to have some sort of Night Life, (not clubbing or drinking all night) but a selection of eating places, entertainment a little nearer to hand. As I mentioned we previously stayed at a Five Star Hotel in Jandia before it became all inclusive, we returned two years later after it changed to all inclusive and we found the hotel and staff attitudes had changed, I hope this does not happen here. With a little more varied entertainment to keep the customers happy and this could be the Ideal holiday hotel for all.

Readers-I use this site regularly to check reviews before I go away and I feel I am now bound to tell you all about this amazing hotel.

My boyfriend and I arrived at this hotel about 5 in the morning in late June, greeted by the cleaners buffing the reception floor! What a reception! After already dropping off the majority of the coach load and seeing everyone else’s hotels, I must admit I felt really smug! This hotel looks amazing throughout and has THE grandest entrance! It is by far THE BEST hotel on the island.

We checked in – free upgrade (it doesn’t hurt asking for a double sea view does it!) the biggest bedroom I`ve ever seen, double bed, single and sitting area, balcony looking out towards the sea and Kos town… and of course bath robes!
The whole hotel is spotless and is cleaned on the hour every hour, the maids practically line up outside the corridor ready to clean…and the service from the staff… second to none. These staff work morning, day and night remember too.
The pool is fantastic, and again clean.

I must admit I find it annoys me hearing people say there’s nothing to do here – for goodness sake go out and do something rather than sit on here and moan! I can’t help but think people go abroad to see something which resembles Blackpool with sun.

My boyfriend and I are in our early 20`s and there were a few couples our age.
There were a few really good sports bar about a 10 min walk bottom of the hotel down road on right, taxi to Kos 7 Euro and bus was 2Euro return! Kos is such a beautiful town day and night. It really has something for everyone- its magic.
There’s so much to do here – and really ideally situated – its up to you to choose as and when you do something in the evening, it’s not under your nose everywhere you turn.

Now as for the Germans – don’t go abroad if you don’t want to meet foreign people – you’re probably more suited to a British holiday camp than a 5 star hotel.
There are Germans, Italians, French and a huge majority of English and everyone was lovely. The food caters for all nationalities and is in abundance!!! The largest buffet I have ever seen – and the cheapest wine too! 5 Euro a medium jug!

Now folks, I work for a major international hotel chain (Ramada) so believe me I have seen my fair share of hotels - and i know what i`m talking about.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in, and without a shadow of a doubt earns every single one of its 5 stars and that again. I cant help but have my suspicions towards those few who doubt this, and rather expect they just fancy a bit of compensation after spending too much on the credit card while they were there.

I went expecting 5 star Greek standards and but was greeted to 5 international standards. This is truly exemplary!

I will be back to Kos!! The sooner the better and ONLY EVER to this hotel!
go and book it!

“A lovely hotel”

Iberostar Kipriotis Panorama

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Panorama hotel. The hotel is lovely, with spacious clean rooms and beautiful views. This time of year the weather is very hot, but as the hotel is situated on a large hill, you get a nice sea breeze (sometimes gets a little windy though!). We were lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite, which was big, though we were told that the standard rooms were also large. We stayed on a half-board basis, and were advised that you can upgrade to AI at the hotel for 30 Euros per person per day.
The food is good, great salad selection and a reasonable variety for the main meal. The best bit was desert! The food did get a little boring after a while, as it didnt seem to alter much from night to night.
There is a severe lack of entertainment at the hotel, the reports from other trip advisors about 'one man and his organ' was spot on, and as such there was a lack of atmosphere in the evenings. You can however use any of the other three hotels facilities next to this hotel, and there seemed to be a little more atmosphere at the Maris hotel. (I think everyone there is all-inclusive, and so once or twice they confused us as AI and didnt charge us for drinks!!). It you are up for late night drinking (4am?) get a taxi or bus into Kos town. It only takes 5 minutes and costs 7 Euros for a taxi. It is very lively!! loads of bars, clubs and restaurants.
The pool area is nice and spacious, with plenty of sun beds, though there were lots of Germans staying there, so get up early for the best positions!! If you fancy a drink by the pool during the day, the hotel shop sells cans of soft drinks and beers etc, which is roughly half the price of the pool bar!!
The beach area is not good as the sand is more like shingle, and hurts to walk on, to be fair though, most of the beaches on Kos seem to be the same, and we liked the pool area anyway.
The staff at the hotel were all friendly, and the reception staff couldnt be more helpful.
Overall, I would say this hotel is ideal for couples wanting a relaxing and somewhat quiet week away, two weeks may get a little boring. I have pointed out the negative aspects of this hotel, but am comparing it to other five star All Inclusives that we have stayed at, It is good value for money, and we had a great time!

“Good hotel”

Iberostar Kipriotis Panorama

Good hotel which was certainly built and designed to be 5 star, certain points like charge for safe in room and charge for sunbeds on the beach (free sunbeds for all inclusive guests) let this place down. However the staff are extremely helpful, the breakfasts were superb (watch out for champagne and smoked salmon on Sunday-most people missed its whereabouts) great swimming pools and sunbathing areas.

I would reccomend this hotel for people wanting a very relaxing time - sunworshipper heaven, for nightlife Kos Town is only 3km down the road with all tastes catered for.
