We booked a room in the annex through Holiday Options but were allocated one in the main building. This was quite a small room, on the second floor, with no lift, but any minor niggles were more than compensated for by the wonderful views from the balcony.
The 'bon appetit' tarriff meant we had half board 8 nights and bed and breakfast on the other 6 during our two week stay. This was an excellent arrangement allowing us to explore the handful of local restaurants, which were good, but not be obliged to go out every night. Dining in the hotel was fine. Thee bar never opened during our stay but it was only a few metres walk to the nearest bar so this was not a hardship.
The place was clean and appeared friendly although not a lot of English was spoken and my French is functional rather than conversational!
Algajola was a pretty village with a fabulous beach although this was a little crowded in July. The train to Calvi and L'isle Rousse was regular but did stop too early in the evening to visit those places for a night out and we were advised that taxis were expensive.
If you were looking to explore and do a lot of sightseeing you would need to hire a car or stay elsewhere, but for a relaxing beach holiday I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Beau Rivage and Algajola
