My husband and I stayed at the Coral Mist from the 5th to the 19th March 2012. We stayed in room 402 which was great. We had gone there on a package with Virgin and I had requested through Virgin a ground floor room so when initially given one on the 4th floor was a bit disappointed. However we never took this up with the hotel as once we saw the room it was lovely and had a great view from the balcony. The studio was spacious compared to most hotel rooms I have stayed in and althouh we didn't make full use of the kitchen facilities it was deffinitely nice to have a big fridge, toaster and sink. The hotel is right on worthing beach wich is beautiful and at some times of the day you can go for a swim there but at others it is a bit rough. However it is great to have it as the view from your balcony. We found it a very chilled out experience. The safe boxes are behind reception but you don't have to pay extra and can access them any time, beach towels are free and can be changed when you want. The balconies face on to the sea but the other side does face on to the busy main road. The good point of this is that you are close to bus stops and close to lots of bars, restaurants and other beaches ike sandy or accra/rockley. The down side is, yes you can hear some road noise but it really didn't bother us. We didn't go to bed till midnight, sometimes a bit later and it never stopped us sleeping at all. I liked the convenience of being close to everything. All the Coral Mist staff seemed friendly and laid back, we didn't really ask them for much as we had everything we needed but if we did we got great service. It really does have a nice feel to the place and we were very happy with it. I think it is excellent for what it is, no its not 5 star luxury but we were not looking for that. If you want a spacious room, friendly and warm atmosphere and be close to everything then I think it is ideal. We ate at Champers which is a bit expensive but we had a really lovely evening there and we thought it was worth it. We also ate at Just Grilling which was good food at a good price. Our favourite local bar was MoJo's we also ate there one evening and the food was very good. We did go to Bubbas once but were not too keen on it being closed in but I imagine if you are hot and want an air condidtioned place then it would be ok. Sundowners at the Side shore bar were a must - happy hour 5pm - 6pm. The Carrib bar on a sunday evening was great, we also had food at the Carib bar several times and it was very nice. We hired a car for a couple of days to see the east coast. However the bus system is really good and you don't need it if you just want to go to South and West coast. We got a bus to Speightstown, Hole Town, Oistins on a friday night which is a must as is graet food and fun, we ate from Margarets stand and had wonderful red snapper. We alo enjoyed meals at Pisces(gap) and Brown Sugar(near the Hilton). It was great to have a choice of beaches, we liked Accra, Sandy, Dover and Miami(Enterprise) beaches on the South. We also enjoyed Holetown beach and a beach just before you get to Speightstown on the west coast and Carlilse bay. Our trip on Cool Runnings was a high light and well worth doing. Back to Coal Mist I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place with great views from the balcony, friendly staff and a good location near a main road so that you can access everywhere you want to very easilly.
The lift was working when we were there so being on the 4th floor was not a probem and it was a grea...
