Just got back from a week at Penera, me and my partner Darren.. Hotel was lovely and was situated really nice just off the beach.. Weather was great and all the staff were friendly. We had a few disappointments with the food and there were a couple of staff who weren't really helpful when we arrived. We arrived early hours of the morning and as soon as we checked in we wasn't told what floor the room was on and they didn't show us how to use the room key in the lift or for the electric in the room which annoyed us as we were tired and we expected them to explain how everything works. The rep we had wasn't very good at all she showed up on the first day we arrived and we never saw here again up until the last day we left. We did have a lovely time at the hotel but not sure if we would re visit in the future as we felt the food spoilt it as it was quite repetitive and didn't taste very nice. There was a selection of food at lunch and dinner but it didn't taste to good and wasn't very hot. The breakfast was ok but we didnt like the buffet at lunch and dinner at all, it was very hit and miss for us. Also for kids there isnt a selection of food for them it was mainly chicken nuggets burgers etc which isnt very nice for them everyday. The room was fantastic we had a sea view (recommended) the tv was a little annoying as the sound wasnt good and it was to quiet and kept cutting out. Apart from the tv everything else about the room was fab. The pool was nice not enough sun beds for everyone.. Out of the week we got there we managed to sit by pool on the sunbeds twice as other people got up about 6am and put there towels down which stopped other people sitting there. In the end we sat down in a small cove just off penera next to the sea which was very nice. The sea was clear blue water very beautiful but was too cold for me. Overall we did have a lovely break/stay at penera with a few minor problems which spoilt it a little bit, but we did enjoy ourselves in the end... For a 3 star hotel i did think it was very good ..not sure if we will re-visit though!
