Have just returned after a brilliant ten days at Capo Bay!
We had a sea view suite which was superb. None of the rooms
have a decent balcony (the surrounding hotels seemed similar in this
regard) our balcony was simply a narrow corridor presumably with
smokers in mind. Once we had accepted that we relaxed and spent our
time on the plentiful sun beds in the beautiful poolside grounds that
overlook the fabulous Fig Tree Bay.
The system of choosing your desired sun bed location and then having it
guaranteed for the duration of your stay is a brilliant.
The standards generally of service and cleanliness show a pride in the
Capo Bay team that is not only rare these days but very uplifting.
My wife and I needed a break and it wasn't only the sunshine that
cheered us up - it was the fact we could pat ourselves on the back for
choosing a great hotel. The food was also excellent although the very
attentive waitresses are prone to whip your plate away before your
partner has finished-not something a traditional Englishman is used to
but this is what happens if you have ever been on a cruise!
The Spa is very good but a bit dark and sinister because it is in the
Whilst we were there three- yes three weddings took place which we actually
enjoyed -it really underlined what a special place Capo Bay is but
I mention it simply so that you are not surprised.
We wanted to relax so did not explore the surroundings- the "strip" outside is
a stark contrast since it so commercial but it does provided a source for
cheaper drinks if one wants to go out. Although the drinks in the hotel are
not cheap it does help maintain an exclusive feel and it suited us fine because
the bar never became crowded or noisy. If you want more excitement the Love
Boat across the road has cheap drinks, lively entertainment and constant football
Back to Capo Bay - the Kio bar and restaurant is beautiful and the waterfalls and
incredible Kio fish not only create a special ambience but provide another oasis to
just help you relax with an ice cool drink in paradise.
It was our first time stay at Capo Bay but it will not be our last!
