There do not appear to be many hotels near the train station in Siauliai. This is one of them - at around 1.5-2 km away. It is closer to the bus station but on returning from there in daylight the following day, it was not particularly easy to find at all either! Take a taxi!! Reception staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and, as I had no map on arriving - and got lost in the search with few people were around to ask - I called the hotel and they immediately sent one of their staff out to rescue me (with no charge)! However, breakfast staff, on the other hand, were over zealous in their efficiency: the buffet had been cleared 30 mins. before the scheduled finishing time and table clothes were being whipped from under other guests' noses as they sat there bang on the finishing time for obtaining breakfast! There is a small swimming pool which reception staff will give access to 24/7 (and, I understand, a gym) - but otherwise not really like a four star hotel; although, it has to be stressed, the charge is the equivalent of £30 per night for a twin-bedded room. There is a restaurant serving excellent, well-presented food at quite reasonable prices - I would recommend checking that out! It is a 15 min. taxi ride from the "Hill of Crosses". Oh, and in common with other Lithuanian hotels I have stayed at, the heat from radiators (at no. 5) is overpowering on entering the room: such an obscene waste of resources!
Ask about corridor cleaning procedures: vacuuming seems to start at a very early hour!
