We arrived after midnight and was greeted by a very cheerful man on reception. Very helpful with all our check in and even found us a spare pillow at short notice. We were told we would get a sandwich and drink as it was so late but this proved to be totally inedible! and the drink was a small bottle of water. However, we had a very friendly young lady on bar duty who saw us right. points scored that night. The breakfasts were not at all good, there was no toast at all, the first hotel anywhere in the world we have travelled which did not provide toast! The food was generally cold even at 7 am. The other meals , however, were of a high standard and we did enjoy these. Our main concern was the all inclusive bar.....it wasnt! There was only a choice of local beer, local wine, ouzo and metaxa....which ran out regularly. In fact on one of the evenings the metaxa ran out at 10.00pm, we were then told that there was only one bottle allocated PER DAY and we would have to have something else. My husband managed to talk to the manager who produced another bottle after the error of his ways was pointed out, the fact that all inc was til 11.00pm and we expected this to be adhered to! He was greeted on his return by a round of applause from the rest of the guests. All in all though, this is a pleasant hotel with good staff, who do their best under difficult circumstances. The pool is at the front of the hotel with good views over the bay, the rest of the hotel being very nicely decorated and definately worthy of 3 stars, but no more. I wouldnt recommend it for families though as there didnt seem to be anything provided for children, either during the day or on the menu. One word of advice if you are about to stay here...ask for a fan...the air con is not very good. The rooms are basic but well equipped with tv, hairdryer, showers etc but again , would only rate at 3 star. For the cost of our holiday though I would say it is excellent value and think once they have sorted out the lack of staff in all departments this will be an extremely well run and pleasant hotel. We would certainly recommend it to friends with a note of caution about the issues raised above but for a relaxing holiday in a quieter area of the resort you cant get better value.
