I visited here on the strength of good reviews on Tripadvisor and their website but was extremely disappointed, the premises are fairly charming but the heating needed turning up a bit. The girls didn't do anything wrong but there was something lacking in the service. The tables were sticky (why do pubs/restaurants attempt to clean them with a spray and a wipe - they need a proper wash down and rinse). We chose: 1. Fish and Chips - the battered haddock was very nice and well cooked, chips too large so not completely cooked, mushy peas were a strange brown colour and a solid tasteless lump. 2. Mushrooms and Blue Cheese - too watery and tasteless and needed a huge amount of salt, which really shouldn't need to go anywhere near blue cheese. 3. Vegetable, Pesto & Cheese Tart - the tart would have been extremely nice if it had been hot enough and it was a minuscule portion, the crushed new potatoes were actually chips (see above comment) and no one told me I wouldn't get what I ordered, there was too much salad which I guess was needed to fill the plate in the absence of tart and it looked like it had fallen from a pre-packed plastic bag. 4. Fruit Cheesecake - imagine the cheapest cheesecake from the cheapest frozen food shop you know, it was grainy and frankly inedible. A nice glass of Merlot saw me through the experience.
