“Good Value for Money”

Delta Hotel

We stayed at the Hotel Delta 11-18 July.

We are a couple in our late 40's and we were looking for a relaxing break where we could lay in the sun, read books and occasionally dip in the pool.

We went All Inclusive and had read the reviews here and decided whatever the hotel was, it was, and we would take it for what is was, and overall it exceeded our expectations.

The Hotel was very clean, the standard of food high, room sizes good. Pools were clean and the Beach Club lunches excellent.

Ok one or two of the barmen in the main bar were miserable but in the main the staff were polite and friendly enough and we only waited to be served one evening when it was particularly busy.

We never had to wait or even queue for food and the standard was as good at 10pm at night as it was at 7pm and there was plenty of choice.

There were always sunbeds available and the animation team were very friendly and tried to include everyone in the Beach Club which made for a nice atmosphere.

The entertainment though not always to our taste and very varied and they had tried hard to cater for all. I especially loved the dancers/mime artists they had one evening. Extremely good!

“dont believe the hype, this is a great hotel”

Delta Hotel

12 Jul 2008

Just returned from a weeks break wishing I had booked a fortnight.

Had read the reviews beforehand and was mindful might have made a poor choice but was absolutely delighted with everything about my stay.

I went half board purely as had a lot of day trips planned and did not think would get the full value of all inclusive however next time I will go all inclusive as learnt hotel will provide you with a full picnic if you wish to go out for day, and coupled with fact drinks are not cheap however they are comparabe with other resorts like arenal and palma it is the fact that the pound is so weak against the euro you can really feel it in prices.

I find it hard to understand why there are so may poor reviews of this hotel and can only assume it is the usual set of whingers you find in all resorts who want something for nothing.

The rooms we had were spotless and were cleaned daily.
All areas within hotel were clean .

There are 3 swimming pools within hotel and and further 2 within the beach club all pristine and with adequate toilet and shower facilities as well as serviced by bar staff.

The buffet restaurant offered a large choice, sometimes a bit repetitive but there is no problem finding something to eat. As well as the pre cooked dishes you can get fresh cooked from the grill usually fish and chicken / pork. As much salad you can at and a large choice of deserts from gateaux to ice cream fresh fruit.

Daily entertainment for kids during day at beach club such as water volleyball and a mini disco at night followed by entertainment for adults such as band/ quiz etc. There is a small night club although not really used much open tll 3.00am for late night drinkers/ revellers.

Although out a bit from main resorts like arenal hotel has a bus stop outside with regular buses to arenal single trip around 1 euro and around 3 to Palma. In the evening if you want a party scene hotels provides a free bus to arenal .

All in all a great break, with a quality hotel . Dont recommend this for teenagers wanting to party till sunrise as they cant provide this but anyone wanting a classier hotel with good links to other resorts you really cant beat this .

“Great holiday”

Just back from a week stay AI. Agree fully with recent reviews and think previous reviewers must have stayed at a different hotel. Only complaints were grumpy barmen at the main hotel and noise from the main road. The beach club is excellent and the childrens entertainment was very good. the free bus was busy and there was some waiting at times but all in all a great time.

“A little quiet but still great”

Delta Hotel

8 Jul 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

Just come back from a week AI at the delta. Have to say it was brilliant. I was a litle dubious after reading some of the reviews but I honestly dont understand what some people expect. A common trend from reading the reviews I found was that half board guests tended to have a worse time. I can agree with this as drinks and food etc if you are not AI was pricey. For how much food and drink we had it was well worth the extra money for all inclusive. Drinks were named brands which was great-never been anywhere where this was the case. And all glasses-no horrible plastic cups. Breakfast was OK- I have had better but there was something to fill up on. Lunch you can have at either the main buffet or at the beach club. We ate at the beach club everyday-it was wonderful. Evening meal wads again brilliant at the buffet restaurant, afew choices of different meats (changed every night) plenty of salads, pastas, paellas and local dishes and potato options not just chips every night. The cakes are amazing! Ice cream was also nice although it did tend to be quite squishy as it was left out for long periods. Other than that I could not fault the food, and having a bottle of wine every evening with our meal was a big plus (on AI).
The location is a bit quiet-if you want a central location with lots of shops and bars then head for arenal or palma, you wont find much more than a supermarket by the delta. But as AI we saw no reason to leave the resort. NIght entertainment was OK-quite a good magic show and the usual stuff youd expect but something to watch. There was alot of german guests but so what? They kept themselves to themselves. We did have some minor disagreements over sunbeds just because one german woman tried to reserve 12. Anyway we just took what we wanted and that was that. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you to the beach club-situated about a 10 minute walk away. We walked it a couple of times but its very hot, great for pictures and the road winds its way down the cliffs and there is some stunning views of the bay. We chose to get the bus mostly though! Only other problem with germans is they seem to have a no queueing system, when the bus comes its every man for himself and despite being the fist at the bus stop you may not get on at all and have to wait another 15mins to 30mins in the heat. The beach club despite not having a beach, is well worth at least one day there. The pool is bigger and plenty of sunbeds most days even though we went more or less in peak season. You can walk down to the sea which is mostly rocky and swim in the water there and the snorkelling was excellent. The sheer number of fish was staggering. We went quite far out and there are loads of weird and wonderful rock formations under the water. Really good. Then back up to the pool area and after being in the sea the pool was like getting into a bath! Really bizzare. The staff overall were friendly-moreso at the beach club, there were some miserable ones at the main hotel however but it didnt ruin our holiday in the slightest.
The pools were all spotless and freshwater. The areas around them were also spotless, it was a very clean place and no flies at all. The rooms were also nice, good sized with a built in hairdryer and the beer and soft drinks in the mini bar are free if you are AI. The safe was 12 euros deposit but again on AI you got this back at the end of theweek so it cost nothing. Only small issues was tht AI ends at midday on the day you leave, so if you fly back later in the day then you have to pay. We took drinks down from the mini bar which lasted us untill 3 when we left for the airport. Not all drinks are all inclusive- baileys and tequilla we had to pay a supplement on but still very good value-1 euro for the baileys and 70 scents for the tequilla. Everything else we had was all inclusive and did not have a bill after ordering again.
I would definaely return. I t was well worth the money it cost us to go and apart from the snorkells and the supplement on the drinks we didnt pay a penny.

“Relax and chillout”

Delta Hotel

5 Jul 2008

Just returned from the Delta and have had one of the most relaxing holidays ever, two forty plus adults in need of a rest .Booked on teletext and we were advised to book AI and glad we did .Food was of a good quality and varied ,drinks all named brands, no wrist bands, but photo card I.D. Beach club was fab and lunch time Grill excellent you need to book this at hotel the evening before as places are limited, not really a beach but rocky cove with crystal clear waters great for snorkelling, sea does go deep very quickly so not to good for poor swimmers. Great mix of nationalities at hotel not just english which gave the hotel a nice atmosphere, not many children geared more towards adults. Nice pools at hotel. Good tennis courts .Only one minor critiscism and that is that the rooms were a bit tired and knowhere much to walk out to at night. But if you just want to chill out and relax and not party the night away then I would highly reccomend it. Great value for money. Do not be put of by poor reviews we were sllightly worried but very glad we went.
