If you like a quiet time this is the place for you!
A beautiful hotel with 2 lovely pool areas, very friendly staff, nice rooms and public areas - but very, very quiet. We were there at the beginning of June so expected to see a few other guests around, but it felt like we were the only people staying, especially in the evenings, and not in a good way! We did see some other guests at breakfast but perhaps others ate elsewhere at night since the resaurant prices were high, even for a 5 star hotel, (we decided to have fairly pricy but nice room service rather than eating in an empty restaurant - the location of the hotel makes it tricky to go out unless you drive or take a taxi - Palma itself is a 30 Euro taxi drive away.
The local town may have dining options but we did not venture there in the 3 days we visited - it looked slightly industrial as we drove past on the main road although others have said it is nice. In fact the location of the hotel is a little strange - no need to worry about booking a room with a view as the view is limited to surrounding roads and overgrown fields. We had a garden terrace room on the ground floor which had an outdoor seating area and small lawn which was fine and probably better than upstairs rooms with no balcony. The gardens around the hotel and pools are lovely, but most rooms wouldn't overlook these.
This place would make a great base for people who want a good standard of accom but prefer to go and explore the local area by car mixed with an option for a quiet time near the pool in between trips, but for more than one night of relaxation the lack of atmosphere due to lack of other guests didn't make it a very fun place to be in the evenings. We left confused since overall our experience was good - this lovely hotel and it's facilities should really be better used? Maybe the price of dinner and drinks could be the issue? The DVD rental service was handy though!
