Just enjoyed a great week at the Barcelo Santiago in Tenerife (early Nov 07). We were two adults on an half board basis. Lovely room with terrific views out to sea and cliffs of Los Gigantes. The staff were very friendly and worked hard to make our stay very memorable. Buffet restaurant was better than I expected. The choice and quality was actually very good but well worth getting out to a local restaurant mid-week to break up the monotony. Nice big pool area and good mix of nationalities in the hotel too which made things more interesting. I really enjoyed my week at this hotel and would recommend to others.

This was an amazing holiday. The Location is great and the staff are really friendly . There is plenty for children to do with a mini club and activities with very kind staff especially Nadine. Most rooms have a pool or sea view and if your lucky both.From the hotel you can sometimes see if your lucky dolphins, we achually managed to see them on the last day. The food is great and there is a good choise of vegitarian and meat but also salad. The area is nice with Los Gigantes a 5 minute walk away. There are 3 pools ( Very cold when you first get it) and a jacuzzi. Good Activities including rifle shooting, football,table tennis and dance lessons.Overall 5 star service.

Not much to write apart from what the others have said, had 2 superior rooms overlooking pools and sea, party was 2 adults and 3 children and we all stayed on all-inclusive, food was great, staff especially Nadine were brilliant with the kids, stayed for 2 weeks , only problem was 4 days ago when French turned up for their half term, their attitude wasn't very pleasant, but apart from that, no complaints, will go back again next year

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years and after our last visit approx 4 years ago, my husband and I vowed never to return due to the poor quality of the hotel. We went with an open mide follwing the good reviews and a personal recommendation after the family visited the Barcelo in March this year.
We have just returned from a 7 day break which was a treat from my father to take the whole family on holiday (9 adults, 2 children under 3)
On a positivie note:-
The positioning of this hotel is amazing with fabulous views from the rooms, the pool area and the main restaurant. The dolphins are an additional bonus which you may be lucky enough to see from the balcony.
The Tapas bar is fanastic. Both the service and the food are wonderful. Would certainly recommend this. The Spa is also quite good.
The pool bar area is now AI for food except between 1 and 3pm (on our previous visit is wasn't an option). We prefer to eat outside so this was great.
There is a AI bar near the childrens's entertainment area which is open for drinks and snacks during the day.
The negatives:-
The hotel, despite a refurbishment , is just as poor as it was on our last trip.
The food, rooms and facilities are adequate but not impressive. The service, on the whole is awful. Service at the pool bar is exceptionally slow and the attitude of most of the staff is that of uninterest. As the AI at lunch finishes at 1 until 3pm, this creates huge queues and a rush...totally unneccesary as they do service food... as long as you aren't AI!!!
A word of warning....the pool area is a hazard. Many adults and children (with and without shoes) slipped and fell around this area as the floor is so slippery. There are no signs to warn you about this.You need to be really careful
If you have a late flight, be sure to get to the spa early to book your shower on the day of departure. We were unable to extend our rooms but this was expected as it was half term week.
A little attention to detail at this hotle and it would be first class. Unfortunately, it is still sadly lacking and I wouldn't wish to return.
