I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over Christmas 2011 with my husband and 2 children. We travelled with Cosmos who were exceptional. Upon arrival I was disappointed with the room which was very basic, 2 single beds and a VERY steep ladder into the eves where we found another 3 single beds. My youngest is 4 and I was petrified every time he went up and down (as he thought the ladder was fabulous). After speaking to a Cosmos Rep I was told that all the family rooms were the same. We decided to arrange our sleeping plans accordingly. As it turned out, we literally just slept in the room anyway. The drying cupboard was amazing and the sauna in the bathroom a good bonus.
The food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Buffet style, eat as much or as little as you liked. Breakfast consisted of cold meats, cheeses etc, croissants, breads and then hot food such as sausages, fabulous bacon, scrambled eggs, my son loved making his own waffles on the machine. Lunch was again a vast array, lasagnes, pasta salads, stews, lots of fish, children's option of chicken nuggets one day cheeseburgers the next (recommended) sausages the next, always chips. evening meal was very much like the lunch menu, the desserts were lovely and the apple and cinnamon pie was to die for. The food didn't phase us although a few complained, but after all, you're not in the UK, things are different to how we have them, if you're a "food complainer" then you'll struggle. The hot chocolate was the best I've ever tasted and a brilliant welcome back to the hotel after a day in the magnificent snow but, there is a sign next to the drinks machines stating that the hot drinks are only free during mealtimes and any other time they are charged at €2.50, we completely ignored this and helped ourselves day and night and the staff never approached us.
The sledges outside the hotel were for everybody's use to take to the slopes. We found people VERY territorial over them and they used tactics such as taking them back to their rooms at night, hiding them and even burying them in the snow so they had complete usage. The hotel was full when we stayed and clearly didn't have enough sledges for all but a short walk into town proved sledges were in abundance as people leave them all over the place and are 10 a penny to pick up.
Now onto Cosmos, what can I say? The reps absolutely made this holiday for us. They were exceptionally well organised, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. A big hello to Icy Ash, Snowflake Steph, Gemma Garland and the crew. They were all wonderful and worked incredibly long, hard hours. I would recommend anyone going out there to travel with Cosmos, first class service and always with a smile. The trips were well organised and I would defy anyone of any age, family or couples to go to Levi with Cosmos and not enjoy themselves.
All in all, the hotel, very basic rooms and different tasting food, if you can cope with that you will have a fabulous time and a holiday that you will never, ever forget.
All family rooms are the same, but the rooms are literally for sleeping so don't get too hung up...
