Amazing! If you are thinking about going to Fiji, look no further, Matangi Island private resport is perfect. We found the price to me mid-range for the resorts in Fiji and we took the word of a travel agent that it was great. She was right, it was the most perfect honeymoon I ever could have imagined. The accomodations are flawless and the resort staff are the best. We went snorkeling, deep sea fishing, hiking, to a private beach for a day, to a traditional Fijian village for a day, took a sunset cruise. Oh, and the food it spectacular.

We just got back from two weeks in Fiji: one week at Matangi Private Island Resort and one week at Lalati Resort on Beqa Island. I wish we could have stayed at Lalati first, because it was a huge disappointment after Matangi. The food, the staff, the island, everything was better at Matangi. The only thing I would say is possibly better at Lalati is the diving, although the diving at Matangi was spectacular too and the dive crew was much more professional.

I highly recommend Matangi and hope to go back there soon. They made us feel like part of the family. Go for the tree house accomodations if you can. They are unbelievable!

Our trip to Matangi was wonderful. It was so incredibly relaxing. The staff is amazingly welcoming. The island is beautiful and unspoiled. The food was exceptional. The beach was soft and silky. We enjoyed every moment. The resort was clean and comfortable- a great combination of luxury and simplicity. We really enjoyed the waterfall trip. The village tour was interesting. We didn't miss nightlife or TV one bit. Massages were great. The outdoor shower was a nice chance from home. Snorkeling was great, the Horseshoe bay picnic a nice private time, the private dinner was romantic. The pictures on the website are good representations of the resort---the resort is what they say it is ---amazing!

The plane ride from Taveuni was an experience. 18 seat plane! Nice views from the plane though. I reccomend ear plugs, a water bottle and go to the bathroom before getting on the plane. It didn't have all the "luxuries" that come with standard commercial flights.

There were spiders, insects, and geckos---we quickly decided we were thankful for the netting around the bed.

Linda at South Seas Travel Agency was very helpful in choosing a resort. There are so many amazing places in Fiji. It was hard to choose but she help make it clearer.

My wife and I had never been to Fiji but after much research and reading the rave reviews on Traveladvisor we decided to go to Matangi Island Resort.

It is everything written and more. The Island of Matangi has got to be one of the most beautiful places on earth surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery.

The beach runs the entire length of the resort, there are coconut palm trees and bright colorful vegetation and flowers everywhere on the island. The resort grounds and beach are meticulously groomed daily by some of the friendliest staff that anyone could want to meet.

Our beach bure was large, very comfortable, clean and was built in true Fijian style. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and the fantastic infinity pool with the "beach" entry. The scuba diving has got to be some of the best on this planet.

Great meals are served in the new dining area that is really beautiful. Shorts, T-shirt or button down shirt are still the informal dining wear...bare feet are also common. I loved being at such a beautiful resort and still being able to be dress informally!!

We overpacked as did everyone else visiting the island. Having a laundry hamper in our bure made everything so simple. Drop clothing in it in the morning and by evening it was back in your bure cleaned and pressed.

If you want a true tropical vacation in paradise then Matangi Island Resort is for you.
