We have just returned from a week at the Mathraki Studios, we had never been to Corfu before so were not sure what to expect and as it was a very last minute booking (the day before) we didn't have the time to do any research so we were very pleased with the studio and the area, we like peace and quiet and we got plenty of that.
We arrived during a thunder and lightning storm but were not put off by it , we popped across the road to small supermarket and bought a bottle of wine which we drank on the balcony while watching the storm out at sea.
Everything was very clean, the towels were changed every two days. The food at the pool bar was very good value we especially enjoyed getting our bacon sandwiches each morning and eating them on our balcony.
The only fault we could find was that the pillows were a bit on the hard side.
A good visit is to the micro brewery just up the road, we had our own personal tour of the brewery and were given beer straight from the vats, it is only open to the public for a tour on a Thursday morning and Saturday night at 5 - very interesting.
Some nice walks around but do beware if you decide to walk along the cliffs to San Stephanos the cliffs are very eroded and at one point there is only a piece of rope to hold on to and a big drop below, an easier alternative is to take the inland route just before the start of the cliff walk.
We enjoyed feeding the hens and massive white rabbit from our balcony
I would probably return to these Studios if I was to go back to Corfu.
