If ever you go to Rhodes, take a taxi to Lardos and discover the delights of Roulas. A family run taverna where the food is absolutely delicious, especially their rack of ribs, you do have to order these in advance but well worth it. All the food is mouth watering and good value for money!
While you are there pop into Tsambikos litlle bar, very working class and no frills but the welcome you get is warm and friendly, Just drinks no food but still lovely to sit and have a cool Mythos or Amstell and watch the world go by..
Next door is Yamas bar a great place to spend an evening listening to music. Have a chat with Mauritsa, her husband Luca and George the barman.
Memories bar is right next door and you get an equally warm welcome, lots to drink and good music.
If you want a real quaint bar that is only open at night time check out Shallow End, a meeting place for the locals. Tiny but big in friendliness.
Lastly is Square bar which is a lovely place sit and have some lunch and you can see all the happenings in the village square.
Why do I know about Lardos? Well I lived there for just over 3 years and met some lovely people there and had some great times with them.
