Noreen and Joe are delightful hosts on this lovely stretch of the Blackwater River.
A warm and comfortable country hotel with great food and plenty to see within a forty minute drive. We loved this part of Ireland and hope to return one day, perhaps to try our hand with a fishing rod!

Room tip: We stayed in room 102,very comfortable with views over the garden and through the trees towards Lismore Castle.

Wonderful hotel, relaxing and fantastic food. Had a super break for a few nights after Camphire Horse Trials - and there was a stable next door for our daughters horse to stay in too! Only in Ireland!
Highly recommend.

Charming house with great character. Freindly welcome - we were made to feel very much at home. Rooms were clean and spacious. Food was fantastic - fresh, honest and beautifully cooked.

OUr kids (ages 4,7 and 9) were very happy here and we nevere felt they were getting in the way (at least this sentiment was never obvious thought I'm sure there was plenty of oppertunity for it to be felt!).

Definitely looking forward to a return visit.

We visit Lismore annually and if occupancy allows we love to stay at Ballyrafter. This is a lovely country house hotel with comfortable rooms, great breakfast and amazing views of the castle and rabbits playing on the well tended lawns.
The welcome is warm and hospitable.
I had a great night's sleep and while floorboards creak and plumbing complains..the shower was hot and strong and the little quirks add to the charm.
We are looking forward to our return visit next year.

'A Customer is only a customer when you sell twice' when someone such as yourselves return year after year it says something of your enjoyment and pleasure during your visit to Ballyrafter.
Glad to realise your sleep was not disrupted by the almost 200 year old floor boards squeaks.
We look forward to you all repeating your annual Visit to Ballyrafter & Lismore in 2015.
Best regards and thanks for The above so positive review.

We had a quick one night stay for two with a lovely meal and drinks in the bar. Staff were brilliant, and Joe proved a real sport in taking out the cabinet Waterford crystal and posting on my forgotten earrings. Will definitely return with the kids! Highly recommend.
