Bar U Ranch is an historic and still in activity Ranch, where you will learn about the activities of this notorious Alberta Ranch in the first half of the 20th century. It's only $7 CDN.

There are people working there, while you will be visiting, that will relate the history of the Ranch, and will tell you everything you want to know about it.

The Camp where you can take some coffee the way it was in that time, in a pot over a fire, is a very enjoyable moment you will spend with the lady telling you a lot about chuckwagons and the camps in Alberta a long time ago.

You can also enjoy a free ride in a chuckwagon.

Overall, a very good experience that we really enjoyed.

We visited the state site in june 2006. Lucky i did some research it is a few miles from Black Diamond, Alberta. It is in the country and you turn on a dirty road and go to the visitors center. Upon entering you pay a cheap fee ( i want to say 6.00 each) They have a wonderful snack bar to eat which we did and a gift store.

You go out the back door down to the ranch and visit what they have been able to restore from the 100 yr plus old ranch.

It is still a working ranch and they do branding and blacksmithing etc. We had coffee at the chuck wagon.

I could go on and on but might forget so included a link. Well worth a trip if you are in the area.
