We (a party of four adults) booked lunch here to celebrate my mum-in-laws' 79th birthday.

Our first impresions were very pleasant indeed. The restaurant (and hotel) itself is very nicely situated in the countryside with beautiful views. The car parking facilities are ample. Before entering, we noticed that there is seating outside the restaurant for those who might wish to take after-dins coffee in the sun and to enjoy the view.

On entering, we found the staff to be courteous and cheerful. The lounge area was nice, leather sofas and a lovely warm real fire - good place to peruse the menu and wine list. The interior decor is nice and light with lovely roof beams and a spacious unfussy and unpretentious layout. Very relaxing and informal.

There were four of us for lunch, i.e. my two parents in law, my wife and myself. Three of us had starters, we all had main courses, and three of us had desert.

For starters we chose goats cheese, spicy parsnip and honey soup and the prawn cocktail - all delicious. I was blown away by my soup - I could have devoured bowl after bowl. Our choices for main course were pot roasted shoulder of lamb x 2, individual sirloin of beef + Yorkshire pud + trimmings, and chicken breast stuffed with spinach + ham + Shropshire Blue cheese. All were magnificent. Other main courses on the menu included sea bream on a risotto of seafood and a veg dish.

For desert we chose the lemon torte I think it was plus 2 x sticky toffee pud + organic ice cream. I had the latter and it was without doubt the best pud I've ever had in a restaurant.

While we're on superlatives, my wife's chicken was the best we had ever tasted in a restaurant. And the lamb was also in that kind of reckoning too. Pretty impressive all round we thought.

Lunch pricing is as follows: 20 GB pounds for two courses or 24 GB pounds for three courses.

Did we enjoy the meal? Yes - it was fabulous - one of the best we've had out in a restaurant anywhere.

Was it good value? Kind of depends on what your budget is so this is a personal answer, but yes - we thought so.

Would we go again? Definitely. Before we had even finished our meal we were already talking about coming back again.

What about the wine list? We didn't order wine but that was just because of a combination of driving, it being lunchtime and some of us not being wine drinkers as such. What I can say however, is that the wine list looked excellent and included a good variety of very reasonably priced choices from Chile and Argentina. These countries are producing fantastic exciting wines at very good prices. I just wish other restaurants would follow suit and stock more wines from Chile and Argentina. Perhaps I can report on that front on my next visit.

In a nutshell? Excellent. A great place to celebrate my mum-in-laws' 79th birthday. Highly recommended !!!

“Bringewood is a special place.”

Enjoyed a fabulous weekend with friends away from our children and could not have picked a better place for a relaxing break.
Accommodation is very comfortable (Molton Brown products, fluffy towels, playstations in your room -even hair straighteners).Location is fabulous - whilst you really are isolated, the views are worth it and the owners are more than happy to take you into Ludlow or to visit other country pubs, thought to be honest, you really do not need to and there is nothing nearby to even compete with the Bringewood, the food was lovely. What made it for us was the relaxed atmosphere and Neil and his brother, who could not do enough for you, but did it in such an unobtrusive, non pushy manner, that you felt like you were just staying at a friends who just happened to have a fabulous converted barn. Only 2 very very tiny comments - if you are on the ground floor, due to the wood floors, the guests above can seem noisy, but I have not found much accommodation where you do not get noise from other guests anyway. Secondly, maybe the background CD could be changed a bit more often! Hardly earth shattering complaints. The brothers should be proud, I just hope the place does not get too booked up before we make another visit.

I stayed here with my fiancee for two nights as a get away before all of the family and the'in laws' arrived for christmas and ostensibly to do some christmas provisions shopping in the 'foody' Ludlow. We loved it, the room was great and the sevice brilliant [we mentioned we were going shopping for local produce and were presented with a list of local farm shops at breakfast the next morning.]
We ate ate in the hotel on the first night and had booked at one of the michelin starred restaraunts in Ludlow the next night - we were so impressed however we chose to stay in on both nights.
I can honestly say that i will and have recommended this hotel to friends and family and we will be staying again.

When we read the reviews on The Bringewood website, we did wonder if the 5 out of 5 ratings where a little exaggerated. We were more than pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case. The hotel was superb, with quality furnishings throughout. The surrounding views from the hotel are amazing. Steve and Neil, our hosts, were friendly, jovial and very helpful. They could not do enough for us.
The restaurant food was probably the best we have ever tasted and the staff were wonderful. Well done and many thanks to them all.
As I told Steve and Neil, I will write this begrudgingly, as I wished to keep this place a secret, because the more people get to know about The Bringewood, the less chance I might get to book a room!!
DO YOURSELVES A BIG FAVOUR AND VISIT AS SOON AS YOU CAN, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Many thanks Steve and Neil

We stayed at the Bringewood for one night entertaining business clients and could not have asked for any better service and surroundings. The Bringewood is in a fantastic position - you really are away from it all. The rooms are contemporary and clean and the service is excellent. The restaurant and bar are a comfortable experience and the food is excellent. A relaxed atmosphere gives this place 5 stars for me.
