my husband and i stayed here overnight at the begining of january, we have since become something of a fixture here as we love it so much!
where to start.....
well the location could not get any better, as you drive towards the hotel there are glorious views all round and the tranquility strikes you immediately.
the building is a fabulous and thoughtful conversion of a victorian barn and blends modern finishes really well with more traditional. the double room we stayed in was lovely, really nice to have so many extras like real coffee and the molten brown toiletries. the attention to detail is magnificent. the hosts made sure that all our wants were not just met but exceeded. which brings me to the food, it is amazing and mostly local, many vegetables are from the garden and the venison i had last night was gamboling about the field days before! always a great selection of choices on offer, always beautifully presented and served (usually by the hosts) in an unobtrusive, informative and friendly manner.
as i say, i cannot fault this place and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality.

My husband and I stayed at the Bringewood for 2 nights recently on our first visit to Ludlow. The hotel was an easy drive from Ludlow and located in the countryside. We booked a superior room which had a large comfortable bed with a duvet. The room felt new and fresh which was a great change from the usual musty old hotels. We enjoyed the modern touches such as the LCD TV, DVD player, Tassimo drinks machine and Molton Brown toiletries. Robes, bottled water and cookies would have made it more luxurious but we couldn't complain as it was such good value and we were glad we had chosen this hotel.

We stayed at the Bringewood for just one night on this trip but will definitiely be visiting again.

After driving along increasingly minor roards into the depth of the Shropshire countryside we had a friendly and helpful welcome, including being provied with a map to enable us to take a walk in the surrounding countryside. The location of the hotel is wonderful with great views and silence but for the birds and the sheep.

The hotel is modern, clean, attractively designed and comforable. The great location and facilities were more than topped off by an excellent meal. The menu offerd a choice of 7 or 8 starters and main courses, the majority of which we would happily of chosen. The only problem was making up your mind. The food lived up to the promise of the menu, everything was very nicely presented but not ostentatious, portions were just the right size leaving you feeling that you had eaten well without being overwhelmed.

Overall The Brignewood was a very good find that we will be recommedning to friends and we have every intention of scheduling a longer visit.

If you want to stay in the Ludlow area then you must put The Bringewood on your shortlist. We have just spent two nights there as part of our Wedding Anniversary and it more than lived up to the expecations created by previous reviews we read on Tripadvisor.

The Bringewood is a bit out in the wilds and there is a stretch of about 500 yards of access road that is narrow but I can assure you that the location once you arrive is superb. Lots of grounds to wander about in, spectacular views and a real feeling of being away from all the hassles of life. The 15 minute drive into Ludlow takes you through some lovely countryside including the Mortimer Forrest and also provides some good views of the surrounding area.

We booked Room 5 which had its own access to the patio area, a very nice modest sized bathroom, a large double bed and flat screen tv with freeview.

Neil and his brother were excellent hosts, with nothing being too much trouble, including maps of where to park in Ludlow, places to visit, suggested walks in the area, binoculars, and even a bird book to identify local wildlife!

Finally, the food was everything you would expect from a restaurant so close to Ludlow. We had the 3 course meal last night for our anniversary dinner at £29.50 per head and it was excellent. Better than the meal we had the previous evening at a location in Ludlow that was £45 per head. Local newspapers have reviewed the restaurant as the best in the area.

All in all a great place for an away from it all rest. Go there!

“Super Lunch”

We (a party of four adults) booked lunch here to celebrate my mum-in-laws' 79th birthday.

Our first impresions were very pleasant indeed. The restaurant (and hotel) itself is very nicely situated in the countryside with beautiful views. The car parking facilities are ample. Before entering, we noticed that there is seating outside the restaurant for those who might wish to take after-dins coffee in the sun and to enjoy the view.

On entering, we found the staff to be courteous and cheerful. The lounge area was nice, leather sofas and a lovely warm real fire - good place to peruse the menu and wine list. The interior decor is nice and light with lovely roof beams and a spacious unfussy and unpretentious layout. Very relaxing and informal.

There were four of us for lunch, i.e. my two parents in law, my wife and myself. Three of us had starters, we all had main courses, and three of us had desert.

For starters we chose goats cheese, spicy parsnip and honey soup and the prawn cocktail - all delicious. I was blown away by my soup - I could have devoured bowl after bowl. Our choices for main course were pot roasted shoulder of lamb x 2, individual sirloin of beef + Yorkshire pud + trimmings, and chicken breast stuffed with spinach + ham + Shropshire Blue cheese. All were magnificent. Other main courses on the menu included sea bream on a risotto of seafood and a veg dish.

For desert we chose the lemon torte I think it was plus 2 x sticky toffee pud + organic ice cream. I had the latter and it was without doubt the best pud I've ever had in a restaurant.

While we're on superlatives, my wife's chicken was the best we had ever tasted in a restaurant. And the lamb was also in that kind of reckoning too. Pretty impressive all round we thought.

Lunch pricing is as follows: 20 GB pounds for two courses or 24 GB pounds for three courses.

Did we enjoy the meal? Yes - it was fabulous - one of the best we've had out in a restaurant anywhere.

Was it good value? Kind of depends on what your budget is so this is a personal answer, but yes - we thought so.

Would we go again? Definitely. Before we had even finished our meal we were already talking about coming back again.

What about the wine list? We didn't order wine but that was just because of a combination of driving, it being lunchtime and some of us not being wine drinkers as such. What I can say however, is that the wine list looked excellent and included a good variety of very reasonably priced choices from Chile and Argentina. These countries are producing fantastic exciting wines at very good prices. I just wish other restaurants would follow suit and stock more wines from Chile and Argentina. Perhaps I can report on that front on my next visit.

In a nutshell? Excellent. A great place to celebrate my mum-in-laws' 79th birthday. Highly recommended !!!
