The biggest draws in St. Thomas are beautiful beaches and duty-free shopping. The island's calm waters are ideal for snorkeling, diving and windsurfing. Head to the capital city, Charlotte Amalie, for jewelry, clothing and gift shops and street vendors selling handmade wares. For a change of pace, go to Coral World Ocean Park to touch marine life or enjoy a banana daiquiri and a panoramic view at Mountain Top, the highest point on the island. For a day trip, take a ferry to nearby St. John.
