About 10 miles north of Nuremberg, Erlangen is the home of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Friedrich-Alexander-University), founded in 1742. Just over 100,000 people live here, about a third of whom are involved with the university; about another third work for the Siemens corporation. Bergkirchweih, Erlangen’s annual festival - akin to Munich’s Oktoberfest - opens in a different beer cellar every year and is attended by over a million people in its twelve-day run around Pentecost.

NH is a clean and very business like hotel. It is no frill and very basic when compared to most of the buiness hotels in Asia. Well, as there aren't many business hotels, NH is the best one around...more

Excellent food, the bohemian knodle is light and airy to soak up the flavors of their various sauces. The apfel streudle is a fine dessert to finish off the meal. I stop in on every business trip. more

My room was recently remodeled, clean, very comforatable bed. No TV in the room, that's the biggest downside. Very good continental breakfast. I will be back! more
