Visiting Liege, Belgium

A bustling university and college town, Liege has a long history of weapons manufacturing and has an Arms Museum. The River Meuse meanders through the city. On Sundays, the riverbank is the site of the famous Batt market, offering clothes, produce and food. Narrow shopping streets are packed with restaurant terraces. Liege is the birthplace of writer George Simenon and a great place to eat. Don't miss views of the city from Montagne de Bueren, 406 steps above the city streets.
