We stayed here twice . The ski station is very near (5 mins walk) and if you are lucky enough to have snow - the second year we did not - our kids loved it. The staff at the ski centre lent us sledges...more

In late July, we caught the 3-carriage local train from Riga to Cesis. Took approximately 2 hours to get there. Stopped at all the small villages along the way, dropping off locals and tourists...more
