Nice sized town on the banks of the Orange. Everything you need is available here (gas, fast food, restaurants, lots of B&B's). Would suggest the Riverside Pub for sundowners. It sits on the southern...more

Who wouldn't want to spend the night in a traditional South African country mansion! We did, at Conville, just east of Aliwal North, on the Orange River about 80 miles above the Gariep (Verwoerd)...more
