When tired of the crowds and traffic of peak seasons, a walk in the Smokies offers a perfect escape. The people all disappear, and soon the true wonder of the park comes into focus. By hiking in the Smokies you can experience things the vast majority of visitors pass by.
And there’s not a lack of trails to choose from either. Of all the national parks in the US , many of which are far larger than the Smokies, only Yellowstone and Yosemite have more trails. If you could unravel the trails in the park, they would stretch from the park to New York City , more than 850 miles. Whether it’s a riverside ramble, a walk in an old growth forest, a mountain climb, or just a roadside pull out to a waterfall or scenic view, hiking in the Smokies offer an experience you won’t soon forget.
